Miri

A soot toned hand passed over the mane that stood on end between his ears. Soothing it downward the male attempted to tame the fur. It was futile. The ragged boy racked his fingers through it a second time, but no matter what he tried it claimed a mind of its own. Leaving him looking wild though his attitude was far more subdued. His other paw idly holding a smooth sea swept rock. A frown fit his maw, while the golden orbs looked blankly out onto the coastline forged the barrier between he and the world he hoped to escape to. Anything was better then this constant solitude.

Hopelessness filled his lean body, something that he neither found pleasure from nor understood. The foreign feeling pushed him to the edge, filled his brain and made him start to question everything. The mission that he and his siblings had set out on, the reason they split, the man they sought. The lack of answers frustrated him so much so that he looked to the spring swept sea for answers.

The male was no contemplator; even the slightest complication that couldn’t be fixed with his bare hands sent his mind reeling. With no way to solve his never ending frustration he had gotten into yet another fight with a pack wolf. His knuckles had finally scabbed over, but the heavy salt laden air made them crack and sting. Flexing his hands Heath endured the pain, though he found it less pleasurable then usual.

Footpaws traveled over the slick rocks that made the beach. It was treacherous travel but the view was worth it. Eyes cast out into the open water, its waves crashing heavily and harshly just far enough away that he was spared the mist. The sandy grey coated male gave a snarl, his lip rolling over white fangs, and released the stone with a side arm throw.

The ebony woman had been watching the tawny grey male as he made his way along the beach. She was surprised that he hadn't caught sight or scent of her since she was sitting atop an old slab of stone further on down the beach. She knew well enough who the fellow was but she didn't press herself upon the man, he would find her when he wished, like she had found the one eyed bastard. So simple it had been to gain access into the pack that housed the monster, the closer she got to the fool the sooner she could put their plan into motion. Just another moment or two and her silly sibling would find Miriette and the ploy could be pushed onto the next level. How she loved the daring and cunning of every adventure they set out upon.. but this was the ultimate.

Her silvery eyes were half closed as she smiled to herself as she basked in the sunlight. The golden aurora that sparkled in her pelt was hard to miss especially on this day. Her fingers wove a needle in and out of the leather as she set to beading small pieces of jewelry that she would wind in her mane later. She would have to go a hunting later for more hides to tan and new stones, shells and gems. She knew others thought the works she did were foolish and useless but it kept her mind at ease and that was all that mattered to the midnight woman.

She counted the stitches she made in the leather as she waited, any second now he would come thundering into her mists.

Watching the rock fall back among its brethren, Heath took back his course. The blue sky mocked his mood, but what he didn’t know was the premonition that it stood for. How could the world be so content with its existence? While he stood in such disarray, the rest just glided by with mocking smiles. The glaring grin of a coyote with red eyes crossed his vision, and the voice of a whining pup filled his ears. Both memories made his fowl mood worse.

Though… something in the air… Something on the wind held his attention. Wiping the recent memories and replacing them with the thoughts of the not so dissent past. The young male found her scent and with no trouble found her form. Perched atop a rock, the female sat as if owning all the ground beneath her. Her black crown held among the clouds that dotted the clear blue sky, and nose looking down at him from afar.

It was what he loved about his sister.

Fighting the urge to run, the male collected himself and strode towards her. A smile teased his lips, but again he refused to show so much untamed enjoyment. Having been brooding just seconds before, it felt unnatural to bask in the return of his lost sister. Instead his face remained emotionless, or at least he attempted to show as little as he could. She would find too much enjoyment knowing that she had been missed.

Honey gold eyes looked into the silver liquid that looked down at him.

Soeur.

The silver pools caught sight of her sibling and just watched him with amusement as he made the stroll across the beach to where she'd proclaimed herself queen for the moment in time. Her long lashes lowered over her eyes as she turned her face away from her brother, her nose tilted towards the blue sky as she acted as though his sudden appearance wasn't worthy of her time. That voice that had spoken one simple word made her lips turn up into a smile though as she gave in and turned her gaze back to the younger sibling.

Nodding her head slightly she spoke softly. Bonsoir, frère. Acting as though she was bored with his sudden appearance she sighed and flipped her hair back, the already finished jewels and twists of beaded leather woven into the strands snapped at the sudden movement. She turned her eyes back to work she was doing and hummed softly. Hoping to get under her brother's skin enough to draw the boy out of his little world.

She cast her eyes back to look at him, noticing the assortment of scars that he'd collected over time. Forgetting what she was trying to accomplish the girl sighed and dropped her sewing into her lap as her voice began to rise and grow more passionate. "Heath! Have you been picking fights again! I Seriously doubt that you were jumped while walking along minding your own business.." There were very few times the woman actually raised her voice and Heath tended to know exactly how to bring her blood boiling.

What a bitch. The thought roamed freely in his mind as he watched her. She acted more like a house cat then a wolfess. Pointing her noise up to the saucer of fresh milk, proclaiming with a stubborn silence that it just wasn’t good enough. And when she did acknowledge his presence she still acted as if he was nothing more then second hand.

It was an annoying but familiar act she played, and though he was used to it, it made his blood boil. Just as she intended it too. She always teased him, just to watch his pressure rise. And though he knew she did it for just that reason, he couldn’t help the fire rise and the anger brew. You know you missed me sister. The word touch his lips just as she spoke again.

Now he smiled, letting his teeth show against the dirty color of his maw. Of course I haven’t! This place is dangerous, thank god I found you. Now you‘ll have protection. He teased looking up to her midnight shadowed face. Feeding off the fact that he was now the one to get under her skin, Heath let his grin widen.

French, because we've learned not to trust translator websites!

She could not help the way she was made, just as she knew that he couldn't. She would always push all the right buttons just to watch the blood boil just behind her brother's eyes. Her own silvery grey orbs were hooded as once more she looked down at the mock second rate citizen. She loved to see the fire flash in his eyes as she played her games. Baiting Gael was always twice as hard but atleast Heath made up for that with how easy the fires raged from that tiny spark she started.

When he spoke she couldn't help but let a huff of disgust escape her lips as once more she turned her eyes away and her nose crept into the air. She sighed and shook her head, giving an airy remark to the brother. "Only for a moment.." She was quiet a moment before letting her eyes fall back on her brother, a simpering smug smirk sitting on her lips as she finished. "tThen I remember what a pain in the arse you can be.."

The two seemed to continue to banter back and forth, she thinking she was besting the boy until he came back with the remark about the simple fact of her being a lady and needing protecting. "I'll show you!" she said as she stamped one paw against the stone, "Who needs protecting now!" She gave a squeal of annoyance and leaped down atop the boy.

Her eyes, the silver storms that mock him. Teasing and testing him like a raging ocean would the lone fisherman. Frustration and anger mixed with a sort of attached dependency. Heath had always needed her, as he did his brother and he missed her as he did Gael. But when she treated him as if he was nothing he wanted to see her pretty dark grin after it met his prettier dark fist.

As she stood he knew that she was planning more then just another one of her, what he called, tantrums. The stomping of the footpaw was classic, and name him smile with satisfaction. But in an instant she was off the rock and landing on top of him. Instead of putting arms out to catch her he step back to only meet the upper half her body, hoping to not to be leveled by her form.

Paws shot out to grasp her upper arms. Holding tightly in order to keep her immobile. A wide grin rode his face, and he moved his paw to her head in hoped of messing her pretty decorated mane. If she wanted a fight she had come to the right place.

The games they played as siblings never did seem to leave them even at this age. The midnight furred girl would have bested him at the game if he hadn't sunk so low. Instead she'd let him get the best of her and she'd shot off after him, her temper flaring as she aimed to punish her younger brother for doing what all younger siblings did.

Of course though, like all fights between a brother and sister this one seemed to end abruptly and with her in a position that left her with a smoldering look on her face. She'd tried to leap at him like some heathen and all he'd had to do was catch her. Her brother was holding her by the forearms up off the ground as she growled at him, her silvery grey orbs glaring as she hissed. "If you don't put me down Heath!" She should have known her threat would do no good but she was still seething mad and therefor not in her right mind yet.

She tried to jerk out of his hands but was at a loss, her fists balled up at her sides as she growled. Suddenly she got the bright idea to kick out, hoping that he'd get over being a cocky little ass and let her go.. thatway she could try this all again.

Just the look she wore made his smile widen. Teeth gleamed and he held onto her just a bit tighter to prolong her agony. Their native tongue lashed at his ears and he laughed at the sound of them. What would she do? He wondered, letting the words fall from his mouth in the same dialect. What? What Miri? Laughing at her until he felt the contact of her foot to his leg. She hit him just below the knee, sending pain searing up and down his leg. Fuck He swore, though the smile didn’t fade. Pain was not something he hated, love was closer to the unknown description then anything. Though, his voice was boiling as he spoke.

You little…

Her ears were pinned back against her skull as he teased her something dreadfully. She growled and showed her fangs as he just stood there laughing at her. It made her blood boil and though she wanted nothing more than to punch him in the face she couldn't even do that. She could however kick the bastard and she was rather pleased with herself when she finally connected with his leg. She flashed him a little grin and chuckled. "What? What Heath? What you gonna do about that?" She spat the cocky words back at him as she tried to draw back to aim another kick his way.

She shifted her shoulders back and forth trying to pry herself from his strong grip as he growled, the anger in his voice making her smile spread into a smug look of triumph as she taunted her hot blooded brother. "Yes my darling bro?" She knew he would probably make her pay but it was always worth it no matter what he put her through. Just to have one up on her younger sibling, who could want anything more.

Why was she the only one he could play fight with? Heath was lost when it came to wrestling with anyone other then she. It was impossible to not become overpowering, full of pure aggression and turn to fighting to the death. It always turned to something more serious then it started out as. But with Miri he could always laugh, also find the fun in hurting her and being her by her without it turning into something too dangerous. Though he did grow tired of it.

Gold eyes blazed as the looked up at her. His paws only clutched her tighter, and lifted her smaller form upwards as he stood to his full height with leg still blazing. Picking her up again Heath avoided the second kick, but the motion of it made his balance uneasy. Wanting to stay standing he released her and took a step backwards. Your a bitch, you know that? The male spat in his best English as he looked at her shadowed hued face. He always said the curse words the clearest.

They were still kids and like children they would find the most horrible ways to pester and torment one another. More often than not it seemed that the two always came to bouts of mock fighting and beating on one another til they were sore and bruised, yet somehow they always came out of it laughing and giggling over their own stupidity. Such was the way of the youth, one moment lost in a fury and the next best friends once more.

She had been smirking at the pain she'd caused him this time when she felt his grip on her arms tighten as he straightened up. She caught the blaze of fire in his eyes as she called out. "Zat hurts Heath!" She knew he didn't care that it hurt but she growled the words anyways. When the second kick had been aimed at the boy it seemed she'd won for that moment in time as he dropped her.

Landing in a pile she shook the sand from her hair and collected herself gracefully as Heath spat his little curses at her. Pulling her hair back from her face she retied the beaded and bejeweled locks with a bit of leather as she smiled sweetly. "That's what the boys love about me hon." Why did he always have to state the obvious. "What do you want Heath?" she asked as she eyed him. She'd already smuggled her way into the pack that the bastard seemed to lead but that had been her mistake and major screw up, she wanted to find out what her beloved brother had found out in the lands.

He knew he was truly hurting her, not like the pain that her kick had made him feel. He felt it willingly of course, happy to have it and actually just happy to feel anything at all. He had spent too much time void of all feelings, or just feeling the emptiness that had settled in his chest. He was certain that it was the separation of him and his siblings, it was a constant reminder of their goal and the brutal loss of their mother. It was good to see her, and good to feel everything she gave him.

He laughed at her as she sat on the sandy ground. Watching as she gathered herself with the poise she never seemed to be without. Her dark coat held the beaches sand, and her ornaments had fallen from her hair. Watching her pretty herself once again he turned sour as she spoke of 'the boys', who they were Heath wasn't sure. They were most likely figurative ghosts of his big sisters imagination, but still he didn't enjoy the idea of she and... them. Where have you been Miri? What have you found? Men? He thought. Though he would pretend he didn't care. He shouldn't care.

While her brother was like a firecracker she was just the teetering balance between right and wrong. There was nothing right in what they'd witnessed in their past but now here in this day having met the beast face to face she wasn't so sure just what to feel anymore. For so long they'd planned to get their revenge on the bastard that had taken the life of their mother and scarred them so.. and yet here she was with a curious effect of wanting to know how the brute worked and if he really was the monster he once had been.

She turned her nose up at her sibling as she rearranged herself and made everything proper and in it's place. Once she'd had everything in place she smiled slightly as she turned towards Heath as he was asking just what she'd been up to. Though she doubted that that was the real reason for why he'd been pestering her she left it at that. Tossing her layers of hair and ornaments over her shoulder she shrugged slightly and admitted. "I have been listening to the gossip." She ran one finger through the sands as she hummed slightly. "And I found a male, yes. One that even you could obsess over." She doubted that he'd get her meaning and he'd probably go into another rant and rave but in the end she'd lay it on him, just let the tension build for now.

She always cared so much about her appearance. Heath watched as she put each strand of fur in it's proper place and arranged the different things that she thought prettied her mane. Heath wasn't the type for decorations, his own fur standing on end most of the time. He kept it short when they were together and not running around like rogues, when she was around to cut it for him. But now it had grown, still standing but curving when the weight of it became to much. He didn't really care.

He waited, getting frustrated as she played her tricks, for her to answer his question. His sister's actions did not portray obvious hidden secrets, but he still grew suspicious. She would always hide something, from him especially. Memories flouted back into his head, of home and how it was to be together with the pack of their upbringing. She had been ruthless to her younger sibling, but he missed the familiarity of it.

Finally she spoke, making him frown. Nothing she seemed to say was of any worth. Gossip was nothing but woman's talk, and she knew very well that he didn't take for males. He hated when she teased him, because of his thin form and lack of masculine shape. Eyes pierced hers, hating that she might be resorting back to that form of harassment, but even as his attitude soured he tried to gather what patience he had left.

You smell of pack. He stated the obvious, letting the knowledge calm his growing impatience and wanting to get more and more out of her. It was a never ending battle with her. There is only one male I care about. Heath spoke with a solid declaration, he was suddenly finished with the games that she wanted to play.

She enjoyed making him wait for everything she had to offer. She truly was like a cat taunting the mouse in that deadly game, though she had no intentions of giving her sibling the finale. Her eyes laughed at him as he watched her, she could see the frustration building as she made him wait and she relished every second that she was able to force out of the short tempered male.

Miriette flashed him a little smile as she reported the news that she had, watching as the disgust seemed to form at the mention of the gossip she'd acquired. She twisted one curl around her finger as she idle remarked. "If you had the patience to shift through the sands there is almost always a treasure hidden." She raised a brow as she teased him so, knowing that soon enough his fuse would end and the game would come to a dead halt.

Too soon it seemed that that moment had come as Heath detected that she'd been around the packs. She raised her chin as she shot back. "Of course I do, how do you think I found him?" she said with a smug little smirk. Her silly little brother hadn't taken the bait yet, only retorting with a sour mention of their father as her smirk broke out into a full blown smile. "Exactly." she said. Hoping that now with the identity of the male narrowed down she would be able to tease one more round of fun out of him.

Heath began to wonder , if he strangled her would she be quick with her responses? If he took his strong fingers to her throat, threatened to squeeze every bit of air form her lungs, would she just say it in plain words? Heath felt his fist open and close, bringing the thought to his imagination and picturing it clearly. It made him smile, though it was erased the moment that she started to talk. Her voice making him sour.

Frowning he watched her, eyeing her words suspiciously. He couldn’t help but believe her, though he didn’t want to. Suddenly he didn’t want to know, didn’t want to think that he had been found. Everything that he had wanted was so suddenly placed in front of him and the haste of it was overwhelming. He had been sure that she was faking it, as she always did.

Liar Heath spoke with a growl though he knew that she wasn’t. Their connection was too deep for her to keep such a secret from her.

She watched him from the corner of her eye as she stretched her long limbs over head head and slowly delayed the answer that he had been wanted so bad. She was a cruel thing but all women were when it came down to it. She was only appealing to her better nature when it came to her siblings. Heath always made life so much more livelier. She turned her eyes towards him and tossed him a dazzling smile as she spoke the truth.

She caught the way he looked at her, knowing that he wouldn't want to believe a word that she uttered and yet knowing just the same when it came down to the truth she never would take it to the edge. She might tease and taunt him to get him on the brink of wanting to know so bad what she had to share but never would the truth be sugar coated or made into some outlandish fantasy. She twisted another curl around her finger as she stared at him as though she was bored, one arm cast out to support her frame as she smiled up at him.

That one word he growled at her made her laugh softly, the sound like shivering bells as she shook her head. "Would I lie to you?" she asked as she raised a brow. Co'mon he knew her better than that.

What was wrong with her? Heath had asked that same question over and over again. She tortured him, and there was nothing that he could truly do. He was sure that he could beat her, but then that would make him no better then the sire they had been searching for. It would certainly be satisfying, but Heath did indeed love his sister despite the way she made him feel. Pushing the tempting thought aside, Heath just spoke his feelings instead of expressing them physically. You’re a bitch Miri.

It was impossible for him to think that she was part of the same pack as the male they sought. It was hard enough to believe that he had been found. Maluki, the beast that had raped and killed their poor mother was living side by side with his sister? Was she safe? Though he refused to show the concern for her, he still felt it. You fucking found him, live with him and you didn’t think to tell any one? While he and Gael were out searching she had found him easily. The anger rose, and though he had just momentarily though he wouldn’t strike her, it was an internal battle that he might eventually loose.

It was just in her nature to bring pain and anguish to her younger sibling. She was the only girl out of the three and she had learned at an early age to stand up for herself and find their weaknesses. She was well pleased in the tricks she'd learned over time, though the boys knew each and every one they still feel for them time and time again. She smiled as he called her by a name that she couldn't deny. With a little shrug she flashed him a dazzling grin as she sighed. "Yes, I know." Each and everything she did was to bring that temper to a boil over and over again and she was so good at it.

She had been dusting more grains of sand from her fur when suddenly her brother exploded into some rage on what she'd gone and done. She rolled her eyes and sighted as she was forced to wait for him to finish his little spat before raising a brow at the male she knew so well. "Are you done yet?" She finally asked as she crossed her arms and began to explain. "He knows not who I am, do you think I'm that stupid?" She tossed her hair in irritation as she rattled one. "Besides, I had to take the time to learn the lands, learn his ways and how to approach him. It's easier as an inside job, you should know that."

She leaned forward and flicked her brother on the nose as she smirked. "Haven't you learned anything?" She let out a sigh of defeat for it showed now that Heath didn't seem to take in anything she tried to teach him.
