Noir's journey. Duration; three days. Her spirit guide is a Bluebird 1000+

........
The girl had ventured away from the den and the well known and well loved places she usually wandered off to. She had never gone a whole day without returning to the den and her family before. This was the third day, and she did not know where she was anymore. The thick and toxic knowledge of her failure stung deep. Her happiness had been replaced by sadness. There was some additional misery because she had wandered away. Her mommy had said that Baby Duck needed rest and food and love if it was to live, but right now she just could not. She had shed a million tears it seemed, but there were always more that threatened to drown the little creature in seas of salt water, and she did not want to upset the land bird more than she needed to. It was good to get some time away from everything, although she hurt more than she had ever imagined she could. She had felt fear before, but this was another kind. She was afraid to lose the little baby that she had adopted as her own, a creature that saw her as its actual mother. How could she have let this happen.

........
It was not fair. She understood that it all had been an accident, and had been assured that the monster would never ever be seen in these lands again. The normally sunny weather hid away from her, punishing her by sending thick and gray clouds rolling across the sky. The blonde child felt lonely. The absence of her duckling was so extremely noticeable despite the fact that it had only been in her life for a few weeks. However, in these weeks it had managed to become a part of her life, and she wanted to die rather than thinking of facing the pain that would multiply with at least a thousand if Baby Duck did not make it. Maybe she could have scared away the large cow if she just had known how to shift. She had stayed in the den like the true coward she was and let her beloved child get hurt. She had not been able to look at the bandaged creature, and had just taken off without a word, unable to carry her heavy burden any longer. Perhaps she had expected it all to go away if she left it all behind or something.

........
The world seemed to slowly evolve into one of her less pleasant dreams. It was the lack of sound that brought the creepy feeling along. The girl’s ears folded back against her skull. Now when it had been noticed, the silence screamed louder in her sensitive ears than any sound could. The blonde Aston child felt her fur bristle. She remembered bad things. She remembered the large brown wolf that had hurt her and wanted to eat her and Ocèane. The fear of a large predator sent adrenaline in motion. ”Brennt?” the child whispered out. She did not want to die. She threw her golden glance around, although what she wanted to do most was to find somewhere to hide. The trees were empty, and there was not even a hint of a faint breeze. There was nothing here. There was always some lesser animals about. Birds singing, ugly squirrels with their ugly sounds. There was always some life about. It felt surreal, and the fact that she was convinced that she had was not asleep made her nerves go crazy. Electricity ran up her neck. It felt like she was being watched, despite the emptiness around her.

........
She turned around in a circle, watchful eyes scanning the thick forest as she rotated. Nothing. A small mewl finally found its way out between her lips. A movement in the corner of her eye made her throw her body around, fur fully risen and her heart trying to beat its way through her chest. It was a bird. A small bird. It had landed on the ground in front of her. Instinctively the girl stepped back, well aware of that those small creatures were easily startled. She had barely ever seen a bird so close before, and never one so pretty. The bird’s colour was a brilliant blue. She stared at it and the little creature stared back. She almost jumped when it let out a lovely melody. She inhaled slowly, trying not to make a sound nor move. The light song filled her ears and allowed the girl to relax slightly. Kinigisdi.. The girl jumped for real this time, and stumbled into her own limbs as her body instinctively told her to run.

........
The girl’s eyes could still not see anything but the bird, which had only moved a bit to the side when she had crashed into the ground. ”Hello?” she called out, in lack of any other resolution. Hello, Noir, I am Kinigisdi. The bird let its light melody pierce the empty air before it fell silent again, watching the blonde half year old, seemingly enjoying itself. ”That’s a stupid name.” the girl told the bird, because there were no one else that she could direct her words at. Her surprise was great when the bluebird jumped closer on tiny stick legs. May be. the voice sounded in her head, and she got the feeling that it seemed slightly cooler. Normally Noir’s brain would have taken this opportunity to go wild with ecstasy, but her heart was sore and out of order. It seemed like it was. It hurt and she still felt sad. You should go home, Noir. the voice told her, and the girl sniffled as she pushed herself up into a sitting position, eyes wet again.

Maybe this was a dream after all. ”Go away bird, I don’t like you right now, because I’m sad.” the child said, unaware of how pathetic this sounded. She lifted her gaze to where the bluebird had been standing, but there was nothing there. She could hear its song from one of the nearby trees, blending in with the rest of the music of the forest. The girl inhaled deeply and looked around, wondering if dreams could be smart and give advice. She needed to go home to Baby Duck and comfort and love it as a proper mother should. The girl had not eaten in several days, but her sudden determination gave her an energy boost that set her into motion, following her own trail back to Aniwaya and her hurt baby. The child’s eyes turned upwards to take in the sky that had turned into a beautiful, cloud-free blue. Almost impossible to detect next to the brilliant blue there was a small shadow, barely visible, but she thought she could hear the hint of fluttering wings from above.
