Asha.

Lannen was in a somewhat foul mood this morning. The sun had come up only a few hours ago. The day had dawned, crisp and clear. He found the weather agreeable, but felt restlessness building up in him like a storm. The male kicked a rock around the ground despondently. He didn't know what had inspired these feelings of unrest, but he couldn't help it now that it was building up inside of him. He was frustrated, pacing like a caged tiger. His hands itched to curl into fists, but he took a deep breath and let it out. He had to maintain control of himself.

When the white male had first arrived at AniWaya, he had been a bit of a mess. He had been fighting for control over his more aggressive tendencies. In those days, instinct had possessed a louder voice than reason. He hadn't craved violence, he simply wasn't the sort. But he found that he had very little patience, and that it was easy to give him to his baser instincts.

Disgruntled, the male rolled his shoulders, letting his head tip back so that his brown eyes contemplated the sky. He tried to relax, but found that he couldn't steady himself. He couldn't grab ahold of his control, and he couldn't let go of his unrest. There was no middle ground, either. He swung dangerously between one extreme and the other.

I'm not sure where this is set in AniWaya, but i'll have Asha obviously come to where he's at. 500+ WotD: Daedal

Her Spirit Guide was peculiar, mainly for the fact that the hawk constantly invaded her dreams. It seemed to be as if it was a personal playground with his, conducting the movies of her slumber, and when things were about to get intense, would instantly snip the films of her mind off. Jaya had done so a couple times, namely with anything that consisted of a dangerous feat, or even with the reveries of Leland. Last night, however, the Amara was in some sort of blurry conflict within her mind that Jaya let run for quite sometime, and her presence in her subconscious was even begging Jaya to end her dream, which at the time of its happening, was quite vivid and daedal. For some reason, Jaya's softly put words through her mind didn't make a sound or word, and continued to let the scene play on its own accord. The nightmare was so vague afterward that when her soft amber eyes opened gently to the world that was in the here and now, she instantly forgot. Whatever it was, however, it was drawn out and painful to her psyche, and awoke her in an eerie gentle manner with her flesh underneath her fur cold and her heart beat racing.

Asha usually rose early on some select days to tend to her equine; mainly feeding him his usual supplements of what was called "breakfast" and some treats later on. Spoiled horse. It seemed as if Aidan ate better than she did, but it was all in the routine of keeping that bond of trust. He was a wiley one, just like herself, but managed to keep hold of his temperament every now and then. Running her fingers through her crimson hair, her amber eyes squinted at the brightness of the sun rising for the day. Arising from the confines of her cabin, it felt great to sleep in her own bed again, despite sleeping on the cold hard ground from when she went on her journey to find her younger sister and the second group of AniWayans that didn't come to these lands.

Seeing as how she was temporarily out of carrots for Aidan, Asha decided to take a brisk stroll through the morning to reach the harvesting grounds just so she could grab a few and return quickly. She had decided to leave Aidan at home, seeing as how walking at this point could get her there faster than riding. Along the way, there was an individual up ahead; one that was ivory, male, and someone who she didn't recognize. Her head inclined to its side softly, trying to place the scent and appearance of the male, but couldn't match a name to a face at all. Continuing with her strolling, she slowed a comfortable distance away, her tone bemusing on her lips. "And I thought I was crazy for getting up this early in the morning." There was an evident smirk splayed across her muzzle, showing that she was being her typical sarcastic, witty self.

Lannen looked up as a scent caught his attention. He lifted his brown eyes just in time to see flame-haired woman approaching. His brows furrowed as he realized that he was no longer alone. He guessed he couldn't really do anything about it. She smelled like tribe, and they were both on tribal land. He wasn't in his own personal den, so he couldn't exactly ask her to leave without being rude. Despite feeling unsettled, Lannen didn't go out of his way to be rude. He tried to be civil, even if it cost him precious little patience.

He couldn't think of her name, and he knew he hadn't met her. Lannen had been pretty lousy at meeting anyone, although he had arrived here almost half a year ago. He had been too busy trying to find himself to seek out much of anyone else. He could count on the fingers of one hand the creatures he had met and stayed in contact with - Ember, Mati, Leland, and Pilot. Of course, his long lost brother had embarked upon a journey to the place of their origins, leaving Lannen here in these strange lands. He had never gotten to meet his brother, not really. He just hoped one day he could actually get to know him. Despite his solitude, he found himself craving some sort of connection, especially to the wolf he shared blood with.

His mouth twisted into a frown at the strange woman's remark. She seemed young - younger than he was, at any stretch. He arched an eyebrow as he regarded her. "Crazy's one word for it," he said noncommitally.

There was something about this male that seemed a little... off. Asha couldn't quite put a paw on it, but there was something about him, something like a vibe, that wasn't entirely there or just wasn't good. The oldest Amara daughter had a miraculous ability to pick up on people's moods, but this person sort of confused her. Especially with his reply, which was quite bluntly put and said nothing more about the commentary of the morning or his state of being awake so early than usual for anyone around the tribe lands. "One word for it? Then what's the rest of it?" She said with a tilt of her head, wondering what he was referring to exactly.

To this, she couldn't help but arch her own red hued brow to him. Was he trying to blow her off, or was something deeper the matter? Well, whatever the case, Asha was going to attempt to make him talk. If anything, she was bored by the norm of things and conversations. "I don't know, I just like seeing the sunrise on some mornings. Not too many get the opportunity to see a sunrise, it's usually all about sunsets nowadays, don't you think?" The red she-wolf attempted to be conversational, completely sidestepping his initial response. It compelled her even more, however, to wonder what this male was doing up so early when he didn't seem to have anything else to do (he was just standing around when she walked up to him, after all). Whether it was to talk about nonsensical things, it was a lot better than nothing, or just standing there feeling those weird, confusing vibes from him. "What's your name? Haven't really seen you around these parts before I left..." Asha trailed off, her amber eyes roving over his figure, analyzing and observing him more so.

Lannen had had enough "me" time to choke a horse. Still, he found himself unsettled and slightly upset that this red-haired girl had intruded upon the solitude he had been so desperate to break just a few moments before. She was pushy, with humor written in her words and laughter dancing somewhere behind her words. It wasn't her personality that Lannen disliked. On the contrary, usually he would welcome someone with her personality type. She was witty and engaging. But now he did not enjoy her being present.

"Never made much of a difference to me," Lannen said, shrugging and curling his fingers into his palms. Sunrise and sunset had blurred together since he had come here. He had been more focused on other things, things that he didn't normally ponder or try to understand. He was slow to learn, slow to adjust to this way of life. At times he felt pathetic, and other times he felt frustrated.

"Name's Lannen," the white man said, arching a brow and cocking his head to the side as the girl continued to try to make converation with him. He didn't think he was putting out any cues that he wanted to prolong contact with her. He didn't understand why she wouldn't just leave him alone in the early morning sun. Surely she had somewhere more important to be, something else to do. "And you?" he asked, almost indifferently.

This male, Lannen, as he would tell her, was certainly short for words. Whether it was the fact that he was merely shy maybe, or maybe just a little introverted for his likes, Asha was growingly increasingly agitated by his short said sentences. Not to say that there was anything particularly wrong with such a thing, but there was something about Lannen that radiated... annoyance? She was thinking that perhaps he really wasn't shy as she assumed him to be, but maybe had some other issues going on with him. Crossing her red hued arms over her chest, her head inclined to the side as she observed Lannen peculiarly. Just what was he thinking, and what was perturbing him so? Seeing as how Asha wasn't about to waste her breath on someone who didn't reply with generous conversation, she then began to daringly question about his overall persona. "Lannen." The red-wolf said at first, as if tasting his name on her tongue. "Are you always prone to acting this way?" Her question was directly set to him, her facade now taking on something of a serious, concerned look. Seriously, what was the problem here? Was it her? Was something troubling him?

A nerve in his neck twitched as the red female bluntly questioned him. He felt his precious patience fraying. Clamping down on his back teeth, the white male closed his brown eyes and took a deep breath. He did not want to snap, especially not at this red woman, as annoying as she was. He knew that he was being curt and short, and it was partly because he was still half-heartedly trying to be civil and also half-heartedly trying to drive her away. Instead, she seemed to be pushing all of his buttons.

This was not the way he wanted to start the morning of another endless day. This woman had only been in his presence for a few minutes, and she already left a bad taste in his mouth. He exhaled noisily and opened his eyes, staring sullenly at the woman. He took another moment to decide what he wanted to do.

He hated the way she said his name, the way it lingered on her mouth before she spoke again. He did not know why, but it struck a chord in him. Even more baffling now, her daring expression had changed into one of concern. He brought a hand up to his hair and raked his fingers through it agitatedly. "I am not having a particularly good coupla weeks," he ground out.

Apparently there was something going on from him, and from the notion of irritable sighs, gritting his teeth, closing his eyes, and raking his hand through his hair, something was definitely bothering him. But what, exactly? Was it her? Asha was beginning to get the impression it might have been her who was responsible for making him so agitated, and in turn would make her irritable. What did she have to do anything with his annoyance? Yeah, you were having a bad day, so what? Change it. Get out of it and put yourself in a good mood, don't make it worse for the others around you. Apparently again Lannen stated something was bothering him. Really? "Oh yeah? Well, it must be important stuff for you to be this annoyed like you are. There hasn't been anything going on within AniWaya that signifies annoyance." She noted, not recalling anything worth being upset about. This guy was weird. Why couldn't he just have a happy morning like everyone else?
