Her father was the pack's leader, and had promised his followers that they would stay away from human traditions and avoid Luperci. Young Xeris befriended a Luperci female in secret, and they met secretly. One evening, Xeris was sneaking away to see her friend when a Luperci from the other pack, seeing her as an intruder, attacked the white female. She returned to her pack and soon began to develop the ability to shift. Though her father still loved her, he was overcome with want of power; thus, Xeris was banished from the pack so that her father could keep his promise of no Luperci influence for the pack. She went wandering, and soon found herself at Phoenix Valley... In October of 2010, Xeris and her daughter left to return to her homeland, as a wolf claiming to be a representative of her father's pack came calling for them. However, it was all a trick; Xeris became suspicious and sent Xion back to the Valley before they arrived at Heritage Retreat. Upon reaching her homeland, Xeris found it to be in the midst of war, with the wolf who had led her there revealing himself as an enemy. The remaining de Heritage pack members in the area were all killed. Xeris returned to Phoenix Valley a changed wolf; she bears much less emotion and is scarred mentally and physically by her experiences.
