The delicate female was backed up against the outer wall of the house, too far away from the front door to slip inside, not to mention she was in her quadrupedal form, without the use of her hands. The front door would have been useless to her in this form, and she didn't have time to shift. Her breathing was short and paniced as she did her best to try and back up further from the creature that had cornered her. How had she gotten into this situation?! She hadn't even been doing anything. Well, she had been taking a walk around the house, but that was a completely innocent activity. She had specifically tried to stay out of situations that might cause her trouble. In fact, the ivory and slate girl had stayed home almost constantly these past few days. Still, trouble seemed to find her. Why? She didn't know.

Today, trouble found her in the form of a crazed, mangy coyote, deranged and starving. It had lost every ounce of the civility commonly found in canines these days. If it had, it likely would have recognized that she was a fellow canine, and as such, not appropriate food. Yes, this was a bad situation for the blind duchess.

As she was visually impaired, she could not see what it was that had pinned her to the wall, all she knew was that she had to get away from it, because she could hear it inching closer to her and snarling at her viciously. "Help! Somebody...anybody! , she yelped as loud as she could, her soprano voice carrying with it a tone of absolute terror. "Please! Heath! Haven! Leroy! Jac! Somebody help!" Oh how she wished she had called sooner. She had smelt the strange scent from a distance, but had thought it might have just been another loner investigating the borders of the Cour des Miracles lands. It had been a loner, but this one wasn't looking for a home. No, it was looking for food and Ruri, poor, innocent, defenseless, blind Ruri had been the first pack member it had encountered. Her ears were pinned to her head in fear as she continued to push against the wall, too afraid to try and run. Besides, it was doubtful she would escape, even if she took one of her memorized routes away from the house. This creature was desperate, and would likely stop at nothing to catch her. Her only hope would be that one of her packmates would hear her voice and come to her rescue.

.......Leroy's feet splashed into the water as his maw dipped down to the water, the husky had finished his rounds on the usually areas but a good sprint felt nice. Lamping up some cool water it slid quickly down his throat before settling in his gut, that was want he needed alright. Pulling his head up the husky gazed up at the cloudly sky, watching the few birds that was scanning the skies that day. today was one day that Leroy was feeling good about, he wasn't why he felt full of energy this day. Maybe from all the work he has been doing has been a good then.

.......Letting out a few panted breaths of air the last of the water that had stuck to his maw was quickly licked away, stepping through the small stream, that was higher now because of the rains his large paws splashed through it until they pressed into the damp grass. 'things are starting to feel a little better' Leroy shifted his weight was ease as his hind paw scratched at the itch on the side of his neck, before his paw touched the ground the paniced cry hit his ears. The pattenered hybird's body shot straight up as his ears fanned forward, the cry wasn't to far away as everything in his mind went high speed.

.......The halfing's black and white form darted forward towards Ruri's call for help, tail high with his hair on end Leroy slammed his paws to the ground as he ran. The scents came to him first and it made his lips pull back over his fangs, pushing himself further his red eyes locked ahead ready for the body to come into view. Coyote. He knew the scent of the animal, though Ruri was blind and this could be bad indeed. A loud growl rose in his throat as everything was quickly set in motion.

The husky exploded from the woods, his heavy body crushing the small bushes and trees as a loud roar like snarl ripped from his throat. Leroy was locked onto the coyote, who didn't seem to pay much attention to anything around him as he just jerked the husky's way at the last second. Kicking off the patterned male crashed into the gray coyote, the sound of them hitting was loud and simliar to the breaking of stone or wood. Falling to the ground Leroy placed himself between the animal and the house as another loud snarl left his throat with a hard snap of his jaws, the gray loner growled back but Leroy didn't care if his growled or laughed as they charged one another. Slamming together knocked the coyote off balance, it would seem it thought this would work well for him. Jaws shot forward into the gray shoulder, Leroy didn't even notice the cut on his chest as he crushed his jaws together. A cry of pain was his reward as the warm blood filled his mouth, shacking his head Leroy faught the struggling coyote slammed him with his patterned body. This is a interesting day indeed

Short post, sorry for the delay

Ruri's heavy, quick breathing sped up as she heard yet another snarl from the coyote followed by the sound of it's claws digging into the earth as it lunged towards her. A scream escaped her lips and she did her best to huddle against the wall, only to hear another snarl followed by the sound of two bodies crashing together. She immediately recognized the scent as that of Leroy and her nerves relaxed slightly. Her whole body was shaking out of fright as she listened to the sounds of the fight carrying on in front of her. She smell of blood reached her sensitive nose, although she could not discern whose blood it was. Was it Leroy's or was the coyote wounded? She doubted Leroy would lose because of how strong he was, but she was still worried for him.

The entire situation was still racing about in Ruri's mind. This near-fatal experience with the coyote brought back memories of the shipwreck when she had almost drowned before Jac had saved her. This fear was familiar and at the same time dreaded. "B-be c-careful...Leroy," she whispered, her body still pressed up against the house, terrified.

.......Everything was motion like a high speed movie, the snarls and crushing of jaws seemed so loud in his ears. The gray thing thrashed about violently under the husky's jaws that locked onto the side of its shoulder, coyote's claws and teeth ripping and cut all about Leroy's chest as he jerked his black and white head. The snarls between them rung loud like sirens, the painful yelp emitted from the coyote with the jerk of Leroy's head. Now the burning in his chest was noticeable from the several cuts and bites, though there might be many the sizes weren't too large.

.......Letting go the husky aimed from the throat of the smaller canine, no sooner then his teeth pulled out of the bleeding wound did the Coyote jumped forward with its own jaws snapping. THe quick devil reached at Leroy's own face, their bodies moved with that intense force that seemed to fuel their muscles. A shot of pain hit his face were the coyote's teeth grabbed him but not for long, snapping it reached further up at Leroy. Rearing up on his hind legs the halfing, patterned male towered his battle partner how also reared up in to fight. Oddly enough they looked close to two dogs fighting one another.

.......Leroy's blood eyes never left the animal as her ears moved with the voice of her scared words. Fangs bared with a powerful snarl pulling out of his lungs, front paws wrapped themselves around the smaller canine. The fight in the animal was slowly leaving, shifting forward he could feel the coyote push its paws on Leroy's bleeding chest as the fell. Hitting the ground Leroy pressed himself fulling on the animal, snarling his snapped his jaws close to its face where it snarled back. As soon as it had begun it was ending. PInning it to the ground the black and white male grabbed ahold of its head, odd as it might have looked the gray animal began to squel under the pressure for Leroy hoped back. Scrabbling to its feet it turned away towards the woods, but not soon enough for Leroy to be on its heels charging and barking it out of the area.

The sounds of the fight continued to plague the blind girl's sensitive ears. The sounds of snarling jaws snapping, sometimes in mid-air other times on another individuals flesh, the sounds of two bodies hitting each other with enough force that she feared would shatter them both, the noises made the fight seem almost as terrifying as when the coyote had had her cornered against the wall. The merle and ivory girl just wanted it to end. Fortunately it seemed like she would get her wish as the sound of the squeeling coyote was quickly followed by the shuffling sounds of it's paws digging into the earth to carry it away from the lands of Cour des Miracles. Leroy barked at the creature warning it, in his own way, never to come back. Ruri, still shaking fearfully, perked up her ears to check if the coyote was really gone. She couldn't hear it, and its scent only lingered faintly in the area. "I-is it gone? Did...did you chase it away?" she questioned, even as her own senses answered the inquiries. She wanted to hear it from Leroy. That way she could know for sure that she could move again.

The fragile border collie was huddled so tightly against the wall that one might have mistaken her for a furry addition to the home's structure. That was how close she had pressed herself against the wall, trying to hide herself. Her petite, quadruped form slowly began to relax, gradually inching away from the wall. She was alive, and unharmed. She doubted she could say the same for Leroy. The tiny female had no idea how to express how grateful she was to him for saving her life. She was simply at a loss for words.

The finally snarl pulled from his throat roughly as his heavy body came to a stop, breathing in hard pants his lips remained pulled back displaying his fangs that was covered with blood at the moment. How in the hell that guy got in her Leroy didn't know but he made damn sure that he was run him out or fucking kill. The large, black and white husky stood tail with his tail high behind him, eyes locked on to the spot that his opponent had left. He could still smell him here, his blood on his body and on the ground, wrinkling his nose Leroy finally moved back towards the house. Moving slow made him feel slightly sick, his heart was beating slower and hard in his chest with the adrenal leaving his system.

Whinceing with the slow steps the patterned male could feel the bites and gashes on the side of his chest, neck, and face burning as the blood slid down onto his coat and the ground."he..is gone." His deep voice was rough as it left his lips, walking back towards the house anyone person who could see would notice the pink and deep crimson on his coat. Reaching the porch Leroy walked over to a shaded spot before laying down, thick drops could be heard hitting on the wooden floor inbetween the clicking of his claws.
" Your lucky." Breathing calming Leroy licked at the open gash on his shoulder.

When Leroy responded that the coyote was gone, Ruri released a shaky sigh of relief. However, these feelings of relief quickly disappeared when she smelled the strong scent of blood coming from Leroy's form. He was hurt! "L-Leroy I'm so sorry that you got hurt, saving me," she stuttered nervously as she padded around the house after the male, understandably not wanting to be alone. Upon arriving on the porch, the delicate collie girl reclined to a sitting position as the wounded male plopped down and began to lick his wounds. Oh, why had Svara had to leave?! Leroy needed a healer and there was not one to be found within the pack. "Is there anything you need?" she asked, her half-folded ears still pinned flat against her skull. She was still very shaken up about what had just happened, and the fact that Leroy was now lying there bleeding from his wounds was not helping her to calm down. However, she was doing her best to not let her personal problems get the better of her. Leroy needed help, didn't he? The petite dog continued to sit there, a few feet from the patterned male, her face betraying her concern for the male's wellbeing. Even her sightless eyes showed her concern as they focused in Leroy's general direction. Would he be alright?

Looking over at Ruri she seemed in one peace as she spoke to him, his ears moving lazily to her voice. Taking a few more breaths the husky could feel his heart pounding in his chest, his lungs were slowly calming down as Leroy's wounds started burning and throbbed with every movement."You, you don't h-have to apologize Ruri." Looking up Leroy could hear his shacken packmate looking for him. "over here" His strong voice was tired and drained as his hind legs shifted beneath him to be more comfortable. Taking a few deep breaths felt better but Leroy still licked at the gashes he could reach, the taste of his own blood wasn't new but it was slowly washing away the others.

"umm mainly rest, my wounds will heal on their own they aren't that bad." Looking over at Ruri his red eyes could see she was still bothered, smiling lightly he thumped his tail on the floor as wagged his tail."Its ok, your safe you can come sit over here. Company would nice, if you get hungry i-ill get you somthing to eat"

Leroy's voice guided her gaze and Ruri managed to focus her eyes as close to the source as possible for a blind girl. He told her that all he needed was rest, which of course was the classic tough-guy response to a concerned worry-wart like Ruri. She was used to Jac responding the same way whenever his escapades ended with injuries, self-inflicted or otherwise. He mentioned that she could come sit next to him and that he would enjoy the company. That was something she could do. If it would help him in anyway, she'd be willing to do it.

The delicate female rose from her sitting position to quickly walk to Leroy's side, the claws of her small paws clicking on the wooden porch. Once close enough to Leroy, she carefully lied down beside him, with only a few inches between them. That was close enough wasn't it? "Thanks for the offer, but I'm not really that hungry. Besides, I don't think you should go hunting just after being in a fight. You might hurt yourself more," her soprano voice stated, wanting to make sure that Leroy understood that he did need rest. The slate and ivory female rested her head between her paws, doing her best to force herself to calm down. The coyote was gone! She was out of danger! Leroy was okay! There was no need to get worked up over this! These thoughts and more ran through her head as she tried to psych herself up into her usual, happy, carefree self. Fortunately, the fates decided to be kind to the emotional female and her nerves soon began to settle. Everything was alright.

Watching her walk over the husky smiled warmly, Leroy didn't care that he won the fight or not but the fact Ruri was ok. Tail still batting on the porch his ears were lazy on his dark skull, she might not be able to see him smile but he was sure Ruri could hear his tail hitting the floor. Red eyes looked to the female at his side as his lungs released a sigh, laying down felt much better though with most of his enegry spent his patterned body seemed to be heavy. "ok no hunting for me then Miss Majordomo." Voice light and smooth as Leroy licked at the reappearing blood on his shoulder and chest.

Licking his lips this coat had wet clumped pieces in his fur, some from the thick blood or from Leroy licking at the open wounds. The patterned male was actually somewhat happy that his kind friend couldn't see him, at the moment he didn't look wounderful with the smudges of pink and dep crimson on the white of his fur. "Ruri your a good friend you know that? Maybe I should go after him..

ooc:Sorry for the delay

The sound of Leroy's tail gently thumping against the wooden porch made Ruri smile. The fact that Leroy felt comfortable enough to express his happiness must have meant that the situation really had calmed down and she didn't need to be so nervous anymore. Her half-folded ears perked as Leroy agreed not to hunt for her. He then addressed her by her title, Majordomo. She had forgotten that her rank had changed recently. She was no longer Duchess but Majordomo of Cour des Miracles. She would have to make it a point to remember that from now on, even if rank wasn't all that important in this pack of misfits.

The wounded male commented that she was a good friend and the self-conscious luperci blushed timidly."That's nice of you to say, Leroy. You're a good friend too. You saved my life...and I can't tell you how much I appreciate it," her soprano voice replied as she turned to face her friend, her pale blue eyes dancing around randomly in his direction. "I don't think you need to go after him. I doubt he'll come back after the beating you just gave him," she laughed, trying to make light of the situation. In truth she didn't know how much damage Leroy had inflicted upon the crazed coyote. However, one could only guess that the coyote was lucky Leroy hadn't killed him. The ivory and merle border collie sighed contentedly. Now that the adrenaline rush she had undergone during the fight had subsided she was surprisingly tired, even though she had done nothing except call for help. Perhaps it was simply the ordeal in itself that had drained her of her energy, not any physical activity on her part.

Looking over at Ruri his red eyes were tired but mainly he was happy she was unhurt, apart of him wanted to kill the small thing for even threating her. Letting out a sigh his curly tail quitley thumped the floor as she sat next to him, he might not have a sister but if he did well he guess Ruri could fit the part. Maybe he wouldn't care before but things have changed, he still is selfish by nature but some may not see it at the most of times. The huskylicked at his wounds again, the salty taste of his own blood making his nose wrinkle. That's a thing with life, you can't plan anything because you can never be sure it will be efficacious.

."Where is Jac or some other memeber to keep you company? I'll have to assign you a body guard." The large male's voice was calm and tired but it intermingled with the faint cheerfulness of her saftey, it was easy for him to see Ruri relaxed but thinking about the fight he wasn't sure how it sounded to her. Moving his head the black and white dog rested his chin on his front paws before bright eyes were covered with their lids, breathing in the scentof his kind packmate leroy tired to ignore the smell of the battle that still hung to his coat. ."So how many men have been bothering you, maybe young males daring the borders for your affection?" Voice playful and light leroy let another sigh escape his lungs.

Ruri's half-folded ears perked in curiosity as Leroy mentioned that he might have to get her a body guard, or someone to watch out for her. She didn't want to be a burden on anyone! Besides, Jac, Heath, Haven, and Leroy all came by to check up on her fairly often, especially Heath. "Oh, you don't need to do that. I have plenty of people stopping by to check on me. Heath, Jac, Haven...they all stop by if not to say hello then at least to make sure I'm still okay," she replied, her pale blue opts flicking in the husky's general direction. His next question made her blush. "No strangers have been coming. Like I said, for the most part, everybody who stops by is from the pack," she didn't offer to tell him about Heath. It wasn't that she was embarrassed by her budding relationship with the coy-dog. She simply wasn't sure how to tell her protective, male friends. She didn't want them to chase Heath off thinking that they were protecting her. She would hate it if Heath ever left. As such she did her best to dodge the question with a question of her own. "What about you Leroy? Met any pretty ladies lately?" she questioned with a slightly childish grin. Perhaps if she made the tough male turn his focus onto avoiding her question, he would forget about the one he had asked her.

It was a relief to hear that some of the others had been checking in on her, Ruri might not be a very close friend but she was a kind soul. A small chuckle passed his lips at her words, maybe she didn’t have any suitors yet but the thought amused him. Of all people to save her from the would be their faithful and utterly stubborn leader Jac, in this dogs mind at least.“Me?” Blinking Leroy’s red eyes looked at his blind friend, any pretty courts chasing after him? Shaking his head went unnoticed by the silver female as the hybrid thought of her question for a moment, eldritch enough he doesn’t think so. He knew how to bat his eyes when he had to.“Pretty ladies and me? Na, I have none of those chasing me. I’ve seen a few but none that I’ve taken a likening to, or one that seems willing to put p with me. I’m no where near as handsome as my voice.”

Deep voice rumbled in his throat like a warm honey, holding back the urge to laugh Leroy thumped his curly tail on the porch behind him. Smiling the husky winced for a brief moment because of the movement that pained his sore body.“They’ll show up sooner or later, you’ll have to bat them away with a stick.” Leroy’s voice was more tired as his body moved on the floor, claws clicking against the wood as his legs shifted to a stand. The open wounds were still slightly bleeding but it was noticeable that clotting had started. To anyone the patterned male looked worse then he really was, this is due to the white on his coat.“we can go inside if that’s better or you.”

Ruri listened silently as Leroy mentioned that no females had been chasing after him. It seemed odd to her that a strong, able-bodied male like Leroy would not have any women interested in him at the moment, but perhaps she was simply naive about these things. The patterned male made mention of the fact that one day she would have so many males coming after her she would have to bat them away with a stick. Her half-folded ears perked at the idea only to have herself shrug her shoulders indifferently. "If I have to bat them away with a stick, they'll probably be fairly safe. I have pretty bad aim," she laughed jokingly. In truth she'd probably have decent aiming abilities even without her eyesight. Her keen senses of hearing and smell enabled her to pinpoint relatively exact locations of individuals.

The silver and ivory female heard Leroy stand up and she quickly followed suit, her petite form dwarfed by the larger male. He then suggested that they go inside if it would make her more comfortable. The edges of her lips curved in a small smile of thanks to her considerate packmate as she pondered her answer briefly, "Sure Leroy, if you want to we can go inside." The delicate female quietly padded to the door her tiny claws making a soft clicking sound on the wood of the porch. With a gentle nudge Ruri managed to push open the door of her cabin, leaving it open for Leroy to follow behind her. When she was in her lupus form she rarely bothered to close the door all the way, at least when she was outside. She would always have an easy way to get back inside that way.

A small chuckle left the tired males chest at the sliver colored woman, she might be blind but she was a very good in heart. Thats rare. Red eyes opened behind his long lashed lids as a deep breath of air left his sore body, ears forwrd as a calm sleepy smile pulled on his lips before shaking his head..“in that case you my be doomed.” Moveing to a stand Leroy could see the blood that would soon be dry and stain her porch, though since she couldn't see he doesn't think it will bother her much. Though Ruri doesn't seem like the kind of females to foofaraw about little things. Following her lead Leroy moved to a comfy spot on the floor before not so gracefuly lowering himself to a lay with a sleepy sigh,.“I'll..just take a small nap here, incase it comes back.” Leroy knew it wouldn't return and he made that clear in his voice but he was drain of enegery and needed so sleep as his red eyes were soon hidden away.
