Drama! Dated to tomorrow or whenever works for everyone XD 300+

Goddamn he was sore. He knew he could have been in much worse shape, but he definitely wasn't in the best of shape either. Cuts riddled his mid-torso and arms, not to mention the one on his face. That Ezekiel was crazy. No wonder Siobhan had been afraid of him when she had left Inferni. If only he had been prepared maybe he wouldn't be in such poor shape. There was no helping it though, it had been a completely random encounter that had quickly escalated to something he hadn't expected. It was a good thing he had had Vowkeeper with him, things would have gone much worse otherwise. After the fight he had gone to Halifax and found some of that rubbing alcohol DaVinci had used when piercing his ear and doused his injuries in it. Now that had burned like hell. Despite that Haven hadn't bothered to bandage himself. The wounds were in awkward enough places that he didn't think he could do it himself.

The Knight had gone back to Cour des Miracles for a few days to heal up some, but the lines across his frame were still red and angry. Though today he had left home to go on an errand that he had been meaning to. Nerves still ate away at his gut as he made his way to Crimson Dreams. It would have been faster to ride Drogon, but he thought that might be a bit too hard on him right now. Even walking caused discomfort whenever his skin moved and stretched a cut. Maybe going to find her while he looked like this wasn't the best idea, but he didn't want to wait any longer. His conscience was weighing on him and he needed to find her and talk to her. He had woken up that morning, with a pounding headache in that room that smelled of booze and sex, alone. Would she even want to see him? He clenched his jaw as his hand held tight the bunch of roses he had collected for her.

When he finally reached the borders of his once home he stopped, jade eyes staring inside. It felt so strange, to come here as an outsider. Even after all this time he wasn't used to it. For a moment he thought about calling her but decided against it. What if his mother or sisters heard his voice and came to see what was up? That wouldn't help the situation any. Shifting his weight from one leg to the other Haven winced, hoping that whoever came across him would be able to point him in Princess' direction.

i am cheating and replying to this before other stuff i should write! 309 words

Ares was very much not happy by what Princess had told him. They were way too young to be having.. sex! What if she got pregnant, had puppies? She wasn't anywhere near old enough or mature enough to take on that sort of responsibility, that sort of burden. Of course, he wasn't too aware of the specific age requirements for sexual maturity, so he was actually pretty seriously worried about that possible issue. And that.. boy! He was filled with fury, bubbling with rage at the thought of what he had done to his sister. It would have been bad enough had Princess done such a thing when in her right mind, but to ply her with that foggy, mood-altering liquid first.. Ohhh he was going to get it. Problem was, Princess hadn't mentioned what pack Haven was from, and Ares had forgotten Mati mentioning his name and pack on their first encounter. It was a few months ago, and he hadn't had much occasion to dwell on that.

He was wearing his navy blue, subtly pin-striped slacks and a creamy colored dress shirt, unbuttoned of course. It wasn't raining, so Ares had decided a walk would be nice. Unfortunately, he hadn't accounted for just how muddy and soggy the lands were. There really wasn't any way to avoid slogging through puddle after puddle, and not only were his feet completely muddy but his slacks had mud caked partway up to the knee. He would have to put a lot of time into cleaning them, later. But for now, the form of a stranger caught his attention and suspicions. The other fellow looked really scruffy - beat up. A trouble maker, clasping a bouquet of flowers. Ares made his way over towards him, golden eyes narrowed and his entire form radiating mistrust. "Who are you and what do you want?"

Fwee! Big Grin 300+

Usually he would have been fidgeting like mad standing there waiting, but his injuries kept that to a minimum. Moving around too much right now just hurt. The worst were the cuts over his stomach and ribs, considering almost every movement he made involved the muscles there. So standing still was the most comfortable he could be at the moment. While his body was still, his mind wasn't though. Why did she have to live here, in this pack? This situation would be awkward no matter what, but knowing that she was constantly around his family and friends made it worse. Had she told anyone what had happened? And if she had, had they figured out it was him? That would be awful. Haven didn't want them thinking of him in such a poor light. Thinking of himself that way was bad enough. Maybe he should swear off alcohol for good, it only brought him trouble. Though he didn't really regret meeting Princess at all.

He heard someone approaching and his mind quieted, hoping that it wasn't anyone he knew. Thankfully it wasn't, he had never seen that grayscale male before. It was a little odd though, to know that so many new faces were in his old home. Would they even know who he was? Did anyone ever talk about him? Those questions were brushed away too though as the other came face to face with him. The way this guy was acting was definitely off-putting. What was his deal? Why was he being faced with such aggression for no apparent reason? A bit of a scowl was on Haven's face as he responded. "I'm Haven Aatte and I used to live here. I'm here looking for a girl named Princess, I need to talk to her about something..." The defiance melted from his tone as he stated why he was here, being replaced by that hint of guilt.

307 words!

The "used to live here" part was interesting, but Ares still didn't make the connection between the tattered boy before him and the brother Mati had mentioned in passing. The rest of what the stranger, this Haven, this jackass who had taken advantage of his precious, beautiful sister said basically just confirmed the vague suspicion that had been lurking around in the back of his mind. He couldn't believe that a coincidence like this would happen so easily in his favor. Ares had wanted so badly to get a chance to confront this disgusting pig, and here it was. In a situation where he had the upper hand, too. Ares was not just the righteous-older-brother, he was also the pack-member-protecting-the-borders. He shoved his hands inside his pockets, trying to keep himself from doing anything stupid to this pretty-boy pervert. Princess was so young!

So many thoughts swarmed his mind that Ares didn't even know which to latch onto. He couldn't even follow a thread of thought long enough to determine which would lead the conversation where. After a few seconds, though, all he could imagine was his beautiful sister being.. touched, being violated by this stranger. Ares clenched his fists in his pockets, and then a few seconds later wondered why the hell he was holding back. Didn't Haven deserve everything he had coming? Despite his whirlwind of thoughts, only seconds had passed since Haven introduced himself and indicated his purpose. Without any warning, then, he tugged his left hand out of his pocket and swung at the older male, aiming straight for his face. The thud of solid contact felt great, but the words that he spat afterward even better. "She's my sister, you prick. Leave her the fuck alone." Hopefully that was clear enough that he'd get the idea he wasn't wanted in these parts.

Haven watched the male before him suspiciously. He knew that neither Savina or his mother would approve of how rude he was being. If he had crossed the borders, that would be a different matter, but he had done nothing wrong. True, his ragged appearance might have looked a little suspicious, but he was carrying a bunch of roses with him. What kind of bad guy carried around flowers when he was looking for trouble? None of it was adding up and if he hadn't been so preoccupied with why he had made this trek he would have been a lot more vocal about his displeasure. He would have loved to drop a few names and watched him squirm when he realized who exactly he was talking to. However it seemed that his current bad luck in random encounters was continuing.

The hybrid's eyes widened as he saw the fist pull back and fly at his face. Oh shit... That thought was the only thing that his synapses completed before he felt the harsh blow to his head. His jaw clenched as he took a step back and doubled over, holding his eye with his free hand. Dammit! What the hell! The pain throbbing in his eye now overshadowed the pain from his various scrapes and cuts. This was bad, he couldn't fight back and this time he didn't have his sword. But then he heard the angry words that were thrown at him and his stomach dropped. Oh god...this was Princess' brother? And he obviously knew what had happened. Well, maybe he didn't deserve to defend himself. If he were in this guy's situation he'd want to whale on him too. Feeling sick Haven made no further move to get out of the way, resigning himself to yet another beating.

Ares, Haven, Princess, Mati, wheee drama! =D 520 words.

Weeks had passed since she had left Haven sleeping in the city, but only one day had gone by since she had told her brother about what had happened. She had cleverly left out any mention of Tokyo's sex talk, since she assumed bringing up their mother would have made him angry. Apparently, though, there had been no need for concern; just hearing what had happened between Princess and Haven had been enough to make Ares very, very angry. Princess just didn't understand what the problem had been, honestly, and she thought her brother had reacted very badly and very out-of-place. Obviously, he just didn't understand what had happened. Haven was her Knight, even if the situation was a little strange. Her brother had absolutely no right to be angry with her for doing what she wanted to do, even if the memory was a little fuzzy. No right at all! Maybe he was just unfairly jealous of her.

By pure chance, Princess was actually near the borders again, wearing the same blue dress she had worn when she met Haven. She had briefly toyed with the idea of trying to find Haven again, but she did not know where to start looking. All she had for clues as his name and the name of his king, Jacquez. The process of elimination would have been a start, but evidently, such a thing was not needed. She had come upon the two figures slowly, curiously, right before she saw her brother's fist fly out and strike Haven. "Buttface!" she shrieked, momentarily forgetting that she had promised him that she would not call him by that name anymore, since everyone in their new pack knew of him as Ares. Well, she didn't care if anyone heard her call him by his birth name. Furious, she rushed clumsily to Haven's side, reaching for his arm gingerly. He looked terrible! How long had he been here with Ares?

The fact that most of her drunken lover's wounds were older was lost on her, and she automatically associated them with the budding bruise forming around his eye, given to him by her apparently still-angry brother. She glared at her brother before reaching to brush Haven's hair out of his face. "Are you okay, Haven? Why are you here?" She took stock of the injuries, both old and the one new, before facing her brother again. "Butt. . . Ares, what did you do?" Princess caught her slip up this time, not allowing his birth name to pass through her lips completely. No matter how angry she was with him - for violating her privacy yesterday and now for actually hitting Haven - she would not force a reminder of that down his throat. Princess was not that cruel, even when furious. Glancing between the two of them curiously, Princess ran her fingers gently along Haven's arm, hoping it was comforting. She did not understand why Ares had decided it was a good idea to hit Haven, but she didn't know why Haven had come here, or what had past between the two boys before she had arrived.

drama!

The easel was heavy, though it hadn’t been when she begun the journey. Next time she wouldn’t take it, even if it was ‘travel’ sized of not. A pad of paper, a pencil, that was all she needed. The tall earthen hued female managed to tote along almost all of her supplies and she was beginning to feel like more of a pack mule then a Captain of Crimson Dreams. She could smile at the imagines that she held in her mind, a scene that was now captured on her canvas. She would only need to touch it up with…

Her hand dropped all that she held, head rose and ears took in the sounds that made her stomach drop. Thoughts washed away any smile that had been written on her face. It was all so close, the voices all too familiar. She checked the air, and found that she was not happy with the results. Through the trees she ran, and before Mati could believe she had even started running she found them.

Purple eyes looked in awe, or disbelief, or horror. She could not choose how she felt. Her mouth hung open, and she looked at the wolves before her. She did not know all; the female garbed in human wear was unknown to the Church girl, yet she wore the scent of a Dreamer. The yelling, the pained look on her brothers face, the anger that filled Ares’ made Mati look from one to the other again and again. The girl touched Haven’s arm, was it placed there? She didn’t like any of it, and a fury rose in her large chest.

“What is going on?” She spoke, though her voice was lost in the chaos. But in a moment she was beside Ares, though her intention had been to see if Haven was truly harmed. It was obvious that he had stuck her brother and she needed to know why. Unknowingly she placed her hand on his arm, not with a gentle caress in hopes of comfort but with a pressure that was asking for answers.

413 words! Big GrinDD

Ares wasn't too sure what to do, with Haven just bent over. He hadn't really thought through the consequences of his action, but he supposed if the other adolescent had struck him back he would have attempted to fight. While he wasn't super built, he had a wiry sort of muscle, although without any real any experience he very well might have lost. Haven was injured, though.. So it was actually sort of hard to predict how it would have gone. The point was, though, that this foul rogue didn't hit him back. He didn't even say anything. Before Ares even had the chance to really wonder what to do next, though, that problem was solved by the introduction of quite a few rather pressing new ones.

First he heard a name that he hadn't for a while, and stiffened, glancing around wildly before realizing that the voice belonged not to his mother, but to his sister. Princess hadn't seemed pleased with his words on the matter the day before, but Ares knew that she just didn't understand what this shit-eating scumbag had really done. She didn't know that he had plied her with alcohol, she didn't know that he had completely and utterly taken advantage of her! And all she had to give him were words of comfort? Princess touched Haven's arm, and Ares absolutely bristled to see it. Once again, he was freed from having to think of an adequate response by the introduction of another voice.

Mati! And.. she did not look pleased, either. What the hell. He was doing the right thing! This time he knew it. It wasn't like with Amata, it was a matter of honor. This stranger had not treated his sister like the lady she was! It was wrong, and she shouldn't be touching him so tenderly, she shouldn't be glaring at her brother who only wanted to protect her, she should be on his side. The brown girl placed a warning hand on his arm, and before he registered the tone in her voice he felt electricity spread out over his skin. Her tone, though, killed that all. Ignoring Princess, he answered Mati, still not placing her as Haven's sister, believing that maybe she would be on his side. "This piece of trash got my sister drunk and took advantage of her!" Pleading, at her. It wasn't fair, he was the one on the side of right, and everyone else was ganging up against him.

The place where he had been struck throbbed and his head was swimming in pain. Couldn't he do anything right? Or was he just bound to make one big mistake after another. He had finally gotten his life on the right track again and then Siobhan had gone and messed it all up. If it weren't for her none of this would have happened. Ezekiel wouldn't have attacked him and neither would this guy. Haven was starting to wish he had never met the coyote at all. Despite how he had felt for her at the time, now it didn't seem worth all the heartache and pain it was bringing him.

He heard a shriek but he didn't recognize the voice, nor the name that it was calling. But then he felt a light touch on his arm and the scent of the girl he'd been looking for flooded his nose. "Princess?" he asked quietly, afraid of enraging her brother any further. The Knight had to admit, he was a little surprised that she had come to him and not go to her sibling. That had to mean that she didn't hate him, that she didn't think he was some awful person who had used her. That brought him some relief. He never wanted her to feel that way, especially not because of him. "I-I'll be fine," he muttered, still keeping his hand over his eye. "I...came to see you. I wanted to talk to you..." He moved to stand up straighter, doing his best to ignore his protesting head and muscles.

Though the next voice he heard made his blood run cold. Oh gods no. With his good eye he looked to see the tall form of his sister joining the little fiasco. A panicked light entered that jade eye. No, he didn't want her to find out, not like this. She didn't even know what had happened, that Siobhan had left him. She wouldn't even have a chance of understanding why this all had happened. Though as the other male yelled more about him he went on the defensive. "I did not take advantage of her!" Part of him wasn't sure if that was completely true, but this guy was making it sound like he was some conniving fiend. It hadn't been the best way for things to happen, but he certainly hadn't done anything to trick Princess or lead her astray. Haven looked back to his sister, his gaze pleading for her to not hate him.

374 words.

The situation at hand was momentarily forgotten at Haven's words, so sweet and surprising as they were. He had really come to see her? What did he want to talk to her about? Princess hoped that he wasn't there to tell her that it had all been a mistake. While she knew they were not going to be mates and in love just because of one night, she did not regret it in the least. "What is it?" she asked, trying to keep the worry from her voice. Princess had loved that night, and had almost hated leaving in the morning. She did not want her Knight to be sad and to not want to see her again. He had said that he wanted to see her again, but she supposed that could have been related to the alcohol flowing through his system. She knew that it did strange things to those that drank it, but she hoped it didn't mean that he had spoken without really meaning anything he had said. She wouldn't believe it, anyway.

The taller girl was unknown to her, but it seemed that both Ares and Haven knew her in some way. Ares went to her for comfort, it seemed, and Haven had obviously recognized her. The fact that she was the only one who did not know the taller girl was very annoying, actually. To solve that problem, Princess huffed, "I'm Princess Chance," and then she added, her tone more firm with these words, "And he did not! I wanted it, too! You just don't understand, obviously." It was true, for the most part, although her judgement had been clouded with her foggy state of mind. If she hadn't wanted it, though, Princess suspected she would not have done it. Despite being so easily influenced - depicted in how quickly she had fallen for Haven due to his flattery - Princess was very strong-willed, usually. Stubborn was also an appropriate word that could be applied to her, and it was doubtful she would be easy to take advantage of. "I really don't see why you care so much, anyway," she retorted, trying to get in the last word in the situation. That was just the way she rolled.

eek, sorry for the delay!

As he spoke Mati released his arm. Eyed looking at his face with a mixture of disbelief and complete understanding. Haven? She wanted to speak, but could only turn her face to her beloved brother and stare. No, she thought. He couldn’t have done this. A chill ran down her spine, the sight of the orange tone hybrid, the thought of him falling onto the path of their father. What was next for her? Cocaine and wildfires? Words would not come to her, the idea that Haven had placed a hand on an unwilling woman brought a sense of doom to her face and yet she could not believe.

Haven spoke, denying it, and then the girl. Her voice rose and Mati turned to stare as her as well. “Mati Church” The introduction falling from her lips as if they stood alone and just happened upon each other. Wait… Her brain pleaded for a moment of silence. Ares had a sister, and this was she, belong to their pack. And Haven… Wide eyes, a dark shade of the purple that was their normal looked at the young male. But her words were not to him “Did you sleep with my brother?” She spoke with even more disbelief, and 'the' word came as a whisper, Mati could not manage it. The sight of it came to her mind, unable to stop the image from clawing at her brain. And at the moment Mati couldn't look at any of them. “What about Si? She breathed, finally speaking to Haven. And then the anger rose. What had happened? The questions rose in her brain, eye looking at the pair, the one who wanted it, and the one who gave it. Her brother… her stomach began to turn. And then her gaze finally stopped on Ares, another soft hued shirt upon his back, He wouldn't take advantage of her. She thought, though as she looked at her brother, finally resting her gaze on one face she was suddenly unsure.

lawl alli, you are totally allowed to sleep, and that was not a delay at all XD; 420 words

Princess and Haven exchanged some muttered words that Ares didn't really pay attention to. All that he really cared about, the only response he really wished to see was that from the owner of the hand that had been on his arm. Haven protested against the accusation, of course, and Princess, poor thing, not knowing any better, took his side. Ignoring her attempted insult of "not understanding," he responded to her last comment with a finality of tone. "I care because you're my sister, and you need someone in this world to take care of you." A warning note in his voice, a less than subtle reminder of the mother that they had broken free of. The girls introduced themselves to each other, and it was very weird for a moment that these two important females in Ares' life wouldn't know each other, but no, it made sense.. Princess had only been a member of Crimson Dreams for such a short while.

Mati's words, while not entirely on his side, were definitely less than convinced. It invigorated Ares, made him more sure than ever that he hadn't been crazy, that this sort of thing wasn't as okay as Haven and Princess wanted it to be. He didn't know who Si was, but Mati's tone made it clear that it was a fifth wolf who apparently should care about this encounter as well. The brown girl glanced back up at Ares to give her final thoughts, and the gray boy shook his head, his amber gaze flitting between Mati and Haven as he spoke. "If he didn't.. if he wouldn't.. Then why did he ply her with alcohol? Why not just court her like a gentleman?" Ares half-snarled, none of his fury having subsided in the least. The alcohol really was the sticking point in this whole situation. It would have been Princess who earned her brother's chastisement and disappoint if there had been none involved. But he had found it in her room, and he had given it to her. What well-intentioned male would do that to a lady? And then there was proof of his evil plans, in what had occurred afterward! Even if Princess didn't understand it, she had been manipulated.

Glaring at Haven, and still stupidly stupidly thinking that Mati and the orange boy must just be friends, still idiotically not making the connection that they were brother and sister, he spoke once more, coldly. "How would you feel if I got a sister of yours drunk and slept with her?"

Despite her best efforts he heard that tinge of worry in her voice. Slowly he shook his head to get rid of those fears. "Something just between us, don't worry though." He didn't want to get into it all right now with her brother still raging in front of them, but he didn't want her to dread why he had come here. Haven regretted the way it had happened, but he did not regret what had happened. He was glad to have met her and what he had felt that night, while enhanced by the alcohol, hadn't been false. He really did like her and really did think she was beautiful and all of that. Nothing he had said that night had been a lie. The male wanted her to know that, but he also needed to tell her that he was coming fresh off a shattered relationship. She deserved to know the truth.

All of this was so chaotic and it was making his head pound even more. Though the look he saw on his sister's face cut him to the bone. No Mati, don't think that, please don't think that. Not of me, please... What had happened hadn't really been right, but it hadn't been wrong either. Princess had wanted it. If she had ever resisted or said that she didn't want it he wouldn't have done it. He wouldn't have! Yeah he had been drunk and out of his right mind, but he would never do that. As Mati spoke he cringed and walked a bit closer to her, though he did almost fall, his equilibrium being thrown off. "She left me Mati..." Haven removed the hand that was covering his eye, though the area was swollen and so he still only had one open. Though in that green pool all the pain was evident. "I was messed up, you have no idea how much it hurt...but I would never do something so awful, you know that don't you? Please..." He could feel tears sting at the back of his eyes but he refused to cry. Not right here, not right now.

Haven understood why Ares was upset. He did. He wasn't blaming the guy at all for that. He had every right to be angry at him. But he wasn't going to stand here and let him say he was this seedy, manipulative character. The hybrid glared at gray and white male. "I didn't ply her! Would you listen? I didn't mean for things to happen this way. I was already drunk when Princess found me that night. She wanted to know what I had and I showed it to her and she drank of her own choice. Things just...happened. But I never forced her to do anything! I would never do that!" His eye blazed as he stared down the other. "I came here to apologize! Things between her and I shouldn't have started off that way, but they did. I'm just trying to make it right." With that he glanced back at Princess, hoping to reassure her that he didn't regret it, that he only wanted to do right by her.

Dear gods, was this guy an idiot? At the last words Ares spit out at him his hackles rose an his face took on a grave and serious look. "I would feel the same as you do, but you should watch your tongue, considering she's standing right here," he snarled. How dare he say that shit when Mati was standing right beside them.

Sorry for the wait and the suck. . . I talked to Erin 'bout it, but still, I'm sorry. 513 words.

The implication behind his words was not lost on Princess, and she narrowed her eyes in response. It wasn't fair of him to try and drag their mother into this, even if she had not done much by way of parenting. She was practically a complete adult, and she didn't need anyone trying to take care of her - especially her brother. If anything, then the only one who could protect her was Haven, since he had told her he would protect her, and she had accepted. Ares had not suggested protecting her at all since they had been reunited, so maybe he didn't deserve the chance. Princess was very much capable of taking care of herself, and she didn't want to have to run to her big brother for every little thing imaginable. During hertime away from him, she had managed to stay out of too much trouble, and she knew she could survive without him. She didn't want to be without him, but she didn't need him to look after her.

Turning away from Mati and her brother, Princess huffed a very loud sigh. "Yes, I did," though she did not see how this was any of the taller girl's business - even if Mati was, apparently, Haven's sister. The mention of this "Si" was interesting, though, and for a moment, Princess felt a flare of anger. Obviously, Si was someone important in Haven's life at some point in time, now or prior to their encounter. "Who is Si," she asked bluntly, though it was stated more as a sentence, rather than an actual question. She did not really want to know, per se, but she wanted them all to know that she was annoyed by this, no matter what their relationship had been. Si had left, and Si was a girl, and Mati knew about Si. What was the relationship between Haven and the unknown female, and was she only a replacement? That was so not cool with her. Haven hadn't mentioned anyone else when they had met, but if there was someone else, Princess felt that she deserved to know. She also deserved to know if she was prettier than the unknown Si.

It was incredibly sweet of him to want to apologize, and knowing that he actually seemed to care about her - at least a little, since he had come here to see her, after all - was nice. It made her feel important to know that everything he had said that night was, at least a little, true enough and not just something he said because he had been drinking for a while before she had arrived. "I don't see why this can't just be between me and Haven," she muttered, eyes flitting between Mati and Ares. They obviously knew each other somehow, in that Mati had arrived and gone to the gray male, so couldn't they just. . . Go away? Then Princess and Haven could have been alone, and Haven could have said whatever he had wanted to say without all of this stuff happening, too.

hehe :]

Mati had always feared for Haven. It was not just the physical similarities between him and their father that frightened her, but the way he used alcohol to quell his emotions, and stifle his sadness that scared her. She loved Haven, he had been there for her just as often as she for him. Those times seemed to be at an end. As her anger rose, it fell against an uneasy tide of emotion that raged within. Ares spoke, and bond that she held to the male were becoming strained. Of course he cared for his sister, and yet hitting Haven was something that Mati could not justify. The idea that Haven was drinking again, made her heart sink, she looked at her brother, Si had left him. She listened, nodded softly as her face became sympathetic. They all seemed to speak at once, and Mati was having a hard time keeping up. Yes, they had truly slept with each other. A one night stand? How could he? Each time she looked to the other female that stood among them she saw a temptress, one that seduced her brother. And yet, she hated that she judged this Princess. None of the things that had been spoken were fair words for any of them.

Then, the words came to her ears. A formidable sentence that felt vaguely like a slap in the face. Violet eyes looked to the gray wolf. She was hurt, and angry. Did he think of her in such a way? Easily taken and then tossed to the side? The thought that Ares didn’t know she and Haven were siblings ran through her mind. She had told him that Haven was her brother, the first night they met. Had he forgotten so quickly? She had just spoken the words, was he not listening? The anger could not surface, it was swallowed by the hurt, drowned by the embarrassment. Haven defended her, and still she could look at either of them. He had fallen victim to alcohol once more, and Mati really didn’t think that he could control it at times.

She wanted to forget the things that Ares said, the anger in her brother’s tone and the female that he had slept with. It was too much, and so was the way Ares comment made her feel. It was indescribable. Her words held the anger and none of the sympathy that she once felt “I know Haven, I know you wouldn’t hurt anyone.” As much as she wished it untrue, the other girl had a point. This was between she and Haven, and Mati’s own embarrassment and sadness drove a wedge between she and every beast that she stood among. Of course Haven hadn’t meant to, but he had certainly hurt her. He had returned to alcohol instead of coming to her, and then sought the comfort of a stranger. Knowing that she was neither needed, nor wanted Mati looked at her brother and then the girl with a narrow gaze. She turned. With one last look at Ares, her eyes filled with more sadness then anger she left them.

Si was.. some past romantic interest then, or something, that's what it sounded like. But an old one, according to Haven, if he could be trusted. And... if he could be trusted, well, then, maybe he hadn't done such a terrible thing after all. If his description of the encounter with Princess was accurate, he might not really be that bad.. Of course, Ares still didn't approve, not in the least, but.. Well, the flowers did fit with an apology, and the orange male didn't seem to be.. blaming him or going offensive or anything, just defending himself, just challenging Ares' accusations. If that was really how it happened, maybe they could grudgingly have his tolerance, even if approval still wasn't coming. Maybe they could earn it, if Haven treated his sister right. An apology, flowers was a good start. He didn't regret punching him, because it still wasn't a very honorable thing to do, to sleep with someone who wasn't completely sober, but.. yeah.

His careful analysis of the situation, his slight mental redemption of Haven both tumbled out of importance with the last thing the other boy said. That was when the missing link fell into place, that was when he belatedly processed the comment Mati had said, to Princess, about her brother. Siblings. Obviously. What the hell. He still did not recall Haven being mentioned before, in their first encounter, but that had been a very busy time in his life and it really was a long time back. But he should have picked up on it. So dumb-founded that he could have actually made such a blunder, he numbly listened to the girls speaking, barely making eye contact with Mati as she left. "I didn't mean.." Ares said meekly to nobody, his golden orbs following her sad, defeated form's retreat.

Belatedly, he turned to Princess, exasperated, snapping out of it for a second to end his part in this and leave. He placed his hand on her arm, mimicking the action that had been done a few times already tonight. His voice was gentle. "Look.. I love you so much, and I know you don't think you need protection, but.. You make mistakes. I make mistakes." A glance at Haven. "Neither of us are perfectly right or perfectly wrong. I don't.. want anyone to mistreat you, okay? And I'm going to fight for that, for you, and you're just going to have to deal." A wry smile. "If.. if he wants to apologize, I'll let him.." As close as Ares was going to get right now to an apology of his own, for the earlier violence. "I've gotta go.." His eyes trailed once more where Mati had walked off. Should he follow her? Probably not.. she probably hated him! He would have to track her down later, have to apologize, if she'd even tolerate his presence. Ugh, how could he have messed up so badly? A curt wave, his hands shoved back into pockets, and he left.

As Princess questioned who Si was Haven winced. That was not the way he had wanted her to find out about his past relationship. The relationship that had recently shattered and he was still reeling from. Gods he felt like such slime. Though that feeling of disgust was quickly overwhelmed by what happened next. He saw the look of hurt on Mati's face as Ares unthoughtful words were spoken, and he was surprised. The first thing he would have expected to see was anger. Hurt spoke of something different though. Was there something between them? This made a bit of that brotherly protection that the gray male was exhibiting rise in his own chest. That was squashed though when word filled with anger came from her directed at him. Immediately his ears plastered against his head and his tail tucked. Did she not believe him? Did she really think him capable of doing such a monstrous thing? No...no he couldn't live with that. But all he saw now was her back as she walked away. Haven didn't know if he'd ever felt so low.

The hybrid stood there numbly as Ares moved to speak words with his sister, words that Haven didn't even hear for as close as he was standing to them. He wanted to go after her and yet he didn't think she wanted him to and he didn't think he could face her if she despised him. Maybe she did and maybe she had a right to, but that didn't mean that it didn't tear him apart inside. He didn't know what he would do if she thought of him like that, if she never wanted to see him again. He didn't think he could live with that, he really didn't. Of all the awful things he had felt, nothing would compare to that. The male clenched his jaw, wishing he could just disappear. At least then he wouldn't bring any more pain to his loved ones.

Ares left and he turned to Princess, trying to hide how much this all had effected him but not really accomplishing the task. He didn't really feel like talking anymore, but he wouldn't make her wait any longer than he already had. He would talk to her and then she would probably hate him as well and then he would leave. Go away so they would not be bothered with his presence. "These are for you," he said, holding out the roses. "Did you want to go somewhere to talk, or did you just want to stay here?" Haven's voice held a hollowness. He hoped that she would say they could go elsewhere, nothing good had happened here.

#####Though she was angry with him, Princess felt her heart go out to her brother, the only one who had ever really loved her completely. Their mother's love had been conditional, and it could not be counted on, but her brother had loved her. There was obviously some sort of relationship between Mati and Ares, and thus far, her hypocrtical nature told her she did not approve. Mati had severely over-reacted about what Ares had said about one of Haven's sisters and what not. Really, what he said wasn't that bad! He'd only been trying to prove a point, and now he was hurt. Because of this, Princess did not find Mati to be suitable for her brother; it was an honest mistake, and it wasn't like he was saying he was going to do it, or that he never would. What she wanted to know was why all of this drama had started in the first place. Absolutely ridiculous! This didn't need to be broadcasted to the entire pack, and she felt that both Mati and Ares had overstepped their boundaries. They just needed to butt out.

#####That wish came true quickly, and she was left alone with Haven. Taking the roses, she looked down at them nervously, almost afraid of what they meant. She hoped they did not mean he regretted what they had done, because even through all of this ridiculous arguing, she still did not. "Umm. . . We could go to my room in the mansion, if you want. I can try and find something to wrap your wounds with," she offered, studying them nervously. The wounds were older, so she did not think they had been inflicted by Ares just now, but they still deserved to be treated. "Come on, I'll lead the way," she added, not sure if he knew where the mansion was, and certain he would not know which room was hers. She held out the hand that was not holding the roses for him to take if he wanted. "It'll be quiet there, so we can talk then." Even though she was terrified of what he mgiht say to her, she thought he deserved to be able to talk in a place where they were not likely to be interrupted, since it was more than likely important.

As they stood there in a brief awkward silence Haven did his best to push what had just taken place out of his head and recollect his thoughts. He had come here knowing pretty much what he wanted to say to her, but all of this had flustered him and now his ideas were all jumbled. He watched as she took the roses and sensed that same nervousness he had before. She didn't need to, at least not about him wishing that what they had done had never happened. If anything she might be the one to want nothing to do with him after she knew more. The hybrid hoped that wouldn't be the case, but he understood it was a possibility. Going to the mansion wasn't exactly what he had been planning on, but he supposed it would be the most private place. "Yeah, sure, that sounds good." Once they were mentioned again Haven himself looked to his cut up torso. The pain in his eye had distracted him from the ache and sting in those muscles. They really did need to be wrapped.

Princess didn't need to lead the way, he knew all too well where Haven Manor was, but he let her anyway. He was still feeling dazed. As she offered her hand he took it, holding it gently. Touching her again made his mind involuntarily flash back to that night and he had to close his eyes and shake his head to make the images go away. He definitely did not need to be remembering all of that right now. With his mind still swirling the walk to the mansion and inside to Princess' room went by almost too quickly. Jade eyes scanned the room, and thought he hadn't lived in this particular room, he found familiarity in the old human house. It was so strange that she lived here, in his old pack. It only reinforced the positive feelings he had for her though. If she fit in here then she must be a good person.

Shakily Haven lowered himself to sit on her bed and patted beside him for her to join him. It didn't even occur to him that their first meeting had started off almost exactly the same way. "I wanted to come and talk to you about what...happened between us. And I wanted to let you know more about myself. Who I am and...what I've been going through recently."

#####The touch sent a shiver up her arm from the hand that held his, but she could not focus on it at all. His nervousness, so obvious in the way he spoke and moved, was doing nothing for her own nerves, and she couldn't think about anything other than what he might have been wanting to say to her. She was nervous, indeed, and she was terrified of what he might say to her. The conversation that had been sparked by Mati still remained in her head, the monosyllabic name repeating in her head. Who the hell was Si, and why was she only hearing about her now? She felt a bit used, a bit like she was going to be cast away because they were sober now, and her brother had punched him. Princess didn't know what she expected to be tossed aside for - Si, Ares, Mati's likely opinion of her, or Haven's potential regret - but she was afraid that it was what was coming next. At least she didn't have anything to be really ambarrassed about, she realized as she scanned her bedroom. It was nice looking, and she wasn't nervous about what he might think of her room or its contents and owner.

#####She sat beside him, trying to keep a small space between them incase he did not want to be close to her. It was only a few inches, but it was a deliberate space, a product of her worry about the upcoming conversation. "Okay," she said softly, hoping that he would need no more prompting than that. She was afraid of being turned away, afraid to be rejected by someone she had spent such an intimate night with, and she did not want to speak until she knew where the conversation was headed. If he was going to say anything that might seem like he didn't want to be near her again, then she could easily hide her pain and say something equally as neutral or hurtful, depending on what he said, but likewise, if he didn't have any regrets about that night (just as she didn't), then she could tell him that, as well. Princess just didn't want to be hurt any more in her life. . . Especially not by her Knight.
