stranger at the door
#1
The small girl with the curly little tail had left the beaches of the Cour des Miracles. She had traveled down the sandy shores until she had reached another border. The scent of the lands confused her, there were wolves there but none of them smelled of the pack that she now belonged to. She had been sniffing about the markers but she still had little knowledge of where she was, not that it bothered her too much.

Instead of turning and heading home she went back towards the scent markers and began to explore the lands. She knew that this must be another pack's lands but she had yet to learn any of the packs or creatures that inhabited the territory. She leap down off of a log that had washed up on the beach, her small nails digging into the waterlogged wood, leaving marks where she had been. Turning her head she gazed upon the waters that had once been home to her mother and father.

Why did the ocean give her a place to reflect? The question opened up a door full of unknowns. Mati tried to close it, quickly before she was forced to ask them all, and venture off to find their answers. Idly she walked the length of the beach, slowly venturing towards the end of their lands. What if she could just leave for a while, a few days to clear her head and not feel the weight of new emotions. She had had worst in the past, real physical pain. Why was this unknown so much worst? Mati cursed herself for asking the question, for like clockwork the next came rolling by. What did it all mean?

Purple eyes looked down the beach, and as if there was a god to answer her prayers something filled her view. A little beast, nothing more then a pup. Four legs began to trot, and Mati hurried over to her. She smelled as Haven did, and with concern she questioned the puppy. “Are you lost?” She wondered, trotting towards the brown fluffy she-pup.

The runty puppy had almost missed seeing the stranger, her mind so set on expanding her adventure. When the voice of the other broke through her thoughts she ducked down in the dying grasses, hoping that she would blend in, but knowing her coat was far too rich a brown for that. She watched as the lady continued towards her, her small ears pinned back expecting a scolding for venturing past her own pack's lands.

Jontae didn't exactly even understand the whole pack situation, even though her mother had been part wolf she'd lived the life of a dog and had never really settled down, atleast while Jontae had been with her she never had. Though they had stayed in a small band there had not been all these silly little rules and guidelines that she had to follow. Jontae frowned slightly as she realized that she still hadn't answered the woman. "No, I'm adveeenturing." she said, drawing out the word to say it correctly.

She gave up hiding finally and rose up from the grasses, swiping at a piece that had decided to cling to her pelt as she asked. "Why, are you lost?" She never really stopped to think that the woman was far less likely to be lost than she was, she never really thought much out before it escaped from her mind and out her maw. Instead she just stared up at the woman and waited for her answer.

The Nanny smiled at the pups attempt at hiding from her. She tried to hide her amusement, not wanting to laugh at the pup. At the little dog’s words Mati ‘hmmmed’ and looked thoughtfully at the youngster. It seemed that she was not worried at all about where she was, just happy that she was out beyond the watchful eyes of the Miracles pack. She smelled heavily of her brother’s pack, something Mati would never overlook.

Mati could respect the fact that she was confident in her position among the Dreamer’s beach, bravery was not something the tall fey was about to smother. “Well no. This is my home.” Mati commented, not feeling turned around at the least.

“I’m Mati.”, she spoke an introduction in a tone that would welcome her further into Crimson Dreams. The questions surrounding the pup bubbled in her mind but Mati had plenty of self-control and would try to gain answers along the way.
