OOC: ©table code and image to jacoby: Hanna's birthing thread. Set on 2 DEC, around 2:30AM. MIYU- You are still welcome to reply, but I'm opening this up for more replies. =D
Word count: 771. Worth 5 points

Hanna woke suddenly with the pain of it. She had been having slight contractions through the day, along with the more normal movements of her child. She had worked through them, around them, over them. These contractions were nothing like those previous pains. With each seemingly random burst, stars danced in front of her eyes and she drew her breath in with a hiss, let it out in a whine. The woman sat up, propping herself against the wall and waited, counting off inside her head. She got to sixty before the signs arose. This time the medic was in control; she slowed her breathing as the clenching pain began again. It helped; the contraction hurt but was not unbearable.

As soon as it had passed, Hanna lurched to her feet, moving quickly toward the door. For all she had planned on giving birth inside, the full moon above her called to her and urged her out of doors. The child would be born in the frozen open; the pup would be fine for no longer than she would be out there. All the time she was picking a place to stop, Hanna counted, keeping as close to the same rhythm as she had the first time as she could.

A sheltered spot in the lee of a pine tree jumped into view, and Hanna made her way to it. She was forced to squat before she could really inspect it, however, and at the count of forty-five her bag of waters broke. Hanna’s nose wrinkled as the contraction passed, quicker than the first. She did not want to give birth in a puddle of water, and with that, the woman got ponderously to her feet and continued on.

Resuming her counting, Hanna went as far as she could go before the next contraction hit. They were definitely closer together now, and the medic began to worry she would be unable to find good shelter before she had to deliver the baby. A cave loomed into sight at the count of twenty-five, but Hanna’s mind barely registered it. She made her way to it on hands and knees, curling into the far wall. Another contraction forced her to begin pushing, another, and another.

On and on it seemed the torture went, until finally, with one last yell, a little blob was expelled from Hanna’s body. The woman picked up the tiny bundle, cleaning the sticky stuff from the pup’s face, eyes filling with tears as the child mewled for the first time. Hanna picked her baby up, examining her every inch, cradled her, showed her where and how to suckle. The afterbirth came, soon after, and Hanna found herself out in the chill wind trying to dig a hole. That plan was aborted, and the woman simply left the mess in the cave, knowing some prey animal would devour it and possibly use it to sustain itself for a little longer. And any prey animal that dared follow her trail would find itself in a world of hurt.

Tucking the pup into the crook of her arm, Hanna began the surprisingly short trip back to her cabin. As she walked, she raised her nose to the heavens and sang out for her child and in thanks to Luna, her deity, for a safe delivery and a healthy child. She had no doubt that some of the members of AniWaya would hear her, and would probably be at her cabin waiting when she got there. Tired as she was, Hanna looked forward to spending time with her pack mates.

The woman turned her attention to the child again, taking in her coat coloration. It was unlike anything she had seen before, but she knew it had to come from Jacquez. The little girl’s fur was seemingly blue, patched with black and a small amount of tan. A movement to her left drew a look, and Cian was there, bright blue eyes gleaming in the moonlight. She could see the pride in his eyes, and smiled at him till his rumbling voice sounded. "What will you name the child?" Hanna thought for a moment, brow furrowing. “Her name will be Désirée…” she trailed off, trying to come up with an appropriate middle name.

“Noëlle. Désirée Noëlle.” Hanna had realized that it was early on the second day of December, and what better way to signify this than by including it in her daughter’s name? A small smile crossed her lips and Desi squirmed slightly. “I think she likes it.” Cian simply smiled. Her cabin was in sight now; what would she find there?

Speak, think, act

Revian was enjoying his walk under the radiant Luna, when his bliss was pierced by a series of very sharp howls. Delreth landed on Revian’s shoulder and looked him in the eyes, only nodding before taking off again. Revian stood there a moment to breath, then let out a howl to let Hanna know that help was on the way.

The Osprey landed on Cian’s back and whistled over to Hanna “Hey, Hanna, Yo” He fluttered off of Cian as the tiger bated and growed at the bird “Away with you!” . Delreth landed on Hanna’s shoulder and said, rather hurridly “Please, hold up a moment. Revian is running his tail off *Revian’s howl is heard now* there’s the man of the hour now… ahg” Delreth takes off again with an Icy glare from Cain.

Revian skids to a stop and nearly falls into a heap. Around his heavy panting, he says
“ I came as fast as I could. Can’t leave you again. It’s my Destiny..that’s what I was told by Delreth .. wherever he may be at this point.”
Delreth lands on Revian’s exposed back and hops about happily, singing something odd to himself.

Revian collapsed but smiled a little, saying now “ I am yours, Hanna. Now and forever”

Here is my reply~ sorry he is a jackass! :O

The full moon shone high, white light washing the frost-rimed earth pale and scintillating. It was as though the world was encrusted with diamonds, crinkling and crunching beneath every footfall. Jacquez Trouillefou was awake, his black eyes reflecting the dark expanse of the frozen sky above him. The cold air burned his nostrils, seeped beneath his thin fur, leached away his precious body heat. He despised this northern autumn, and the winter that it promised. Nothing good would come of this night.
As if to answer his silent premonition, a short pained cry echoed from deeper in the territory. Someone was in agony. Jacquez tilted his head, padding wraith-like across the scent borders of his kingdom, noble muzzle testing the chilled air. Suddenly he drew to a halt, back ramrod stiff, hairs rising down the nape of his neck.
He knew that voice, knew where it was coming from. Hanna, the tribeswoman, the one who wanted a careless night of fun and grew heavy with his child. Why she had decided to raise the bastard litter, when he so clearly told her he would not offer support or recognition, baffled him. Jontae was his flesh-and-blood as well, and it simply did not register with the damaged man that it should mean something to him. Perhaps they could serve as his royal successors to the throne once he was finally snuffed out, but they probably all took after their mothers rather than him.
Another howl rent the air, this one relaxed, lyrical, joyful. The delivery had been successful. Another child of the king had been born into this world. The night sky stretched before him, open, empty, black. The monarch did not budge. What would he say, if he went to see them? Should he ask for its name, try to remember to visit the neighboring pack, keep track of it? It sounded like too much work... and as far as he knew, none of his packmates here knew about Susquehanna and their one night stand. It could be their little secret.

"Bonne fortune... mais je n'ai pas te désirée."

OOC: hope this is a good enough post. ^^; sorry if it sucks.

Aria was curled up in her den, squirming happily from her dreams. In her subconscious, the white and gray wolf was a pup again, playing with her parents without a care in the world. The innocent years of her childhood (or would it be pup-hood?) was replayed over and over again in her mind and she enjoyed every moment of it. But the thing she enjoyed best of all was having her parents back, not knowing it was just a dream.

Back in the real world, the wolf's ears perked up at the sound of a howl to indicate a new life had been brought into the world. Instinctively getting up, she was thrust out of her dreams causing her to look around for her parents, until she remembered that she had been dreaming. Clearing her head, she shook the cold off along with the feelings of mourning that came with the realization that her parents were still dead, and headed out to where she heard the howl or new life.

After traveling for a minute or two she came across another wolf carrying a pup in her arms. Not wanting to cause an incident, the white female gave a warning bark before coming into sight of the other female, with her tail and ears down to show she's not a threat.

OOC: Hanna greets Aria, gets a little miffed at Rev, doesn't see Jac, and then greets and introduces Desi to any others at her cabin. Big Grin
