On cold winter days the sound of the grass crunching under her weight made Kali think of the sound of bone crunching between her teeth. The sound of the trees rustling in the wind sound a lot like a limp body skidding across the ground, propelled by the force of one of her blows. A day like this was a violent symphony, one that was comforting in the fact that it was also familiar to the canine's ears. And thus Kali was feeling incredibly contented even as she approached the edge of a territory that was most definitely not her own. Her nose alerted her to this beyond reasonable doubt. But then again, she didn't have any territory of her own. Not anymore. She was on her own now.

Being on her own, of course, wasn't Kali's idea of a comfortable life. She had so much aggression and with nothing to fight for it all felt wasted. She couldn't deny that she was hard to get along with. She was headstrong, and something of an elitist when it came to her kind. In her eyes it was much better to be pure. Purebred coyote, and a born shifter at that. Others were just inferior, a bother, and generally a waste of flesh. Perhaps her tendency to start fights because of this was one thing that had lead to her being out on her own. Well, she wasn't about to blame it on herself. After all, she had left! They weren't good enough for her. None of them were near good enough. And here she was now, seeking perhaps a new home with a better fit.

She paced to the edge of the territory and stopped. So here she was. Kali knew that if she wanted to be accepted she need to put her pride aside, and after months of wandering on her own... She really did want to be accepted. Better here than anywhere else. She was tired of wandering and she wasn't about to move on. Maybe this was going to be the answer to her restlessness, a place to belong. Only time would tell, of course. She eased over that invisible edge and stood with her posture tense and high, knowing she would have to appear a bit more submissive when the time came. But for now this was habit. And then she threw back her head, letting out a long howl, calling for someone to come to greet her. This was going to be interesting, at least. There would be a fight to the death (most likely hers) or a new home in her near future.

Halo would not have not bothered with the stranger’s call at all if it had not been for the fact that she had been close by the time the howl sounded. Despite having spent half the day dancing with one of the twins she did not feel too bad. In the start when she had started her physical training the days had been full of pain and pain and so much more pain. It had kept her mental issues at bay, but her body had adapted well to her new life style by now. The swords that had once been so heavy in her hands were now close to weightless, not at all hard to handle like before.

The twins had been left in the mansion and Halo thought it was a shame she had not brought them, this despite the clear distinction of a coyote in the stranger’s call. Perhaps it was comfort she was after. Carrying deadly items made her feel much better. She had taken the lupus form a few hours ago in search for the meal of the day, and her belly was still empty. No luck today. Long and strong limbs strode to greet the stranger female. Her ruby gaze was alert as she slithered into view. Her wolf blood had at least given her some extra size in her plain form. ”Yeah?” her light melody sounded warily. She had lost her ability to trust along with her virginity.

The fact that someone showed up at all was kind of a little surprising to Kali. She hadn't been expecting anyone so soon. Actually, she had sort of hoped that she would get no reply so that she knew no one was close enough for her to have to fight off if she decided to take a look around on her own. But of course, it was just her luck that someone did happen to show up. And that someone, as far as she could tell, was someone who belonged here. And of course she could also tell for various reason that this stranger was... Well, 'mixed'.

The thought made her feel a little disgusted, but she managed to refrain from showing this took much. She had a feeling that no matter where she went she was going to be quite hard pressed to find anyone who shared exactly the same values as she did. And for this reason she didn't turn to leave and ignore the stranger. She had run out of places to go and though she was strong and independent, she had come to realize that surviving on her own was tough and something that she couldn't do forever, or even something she didn't WANT to do forever.

"Well, isn't this a lively place?" She said, attempting to keep all traces of bitterness from her voice but not doing so very well. Her tail swished a bit higher than she meant it to, definitely not a very submissive gesture, but she managed to calm that as well. After all, she didn't know who this stranger was, and she didn't want to start any unnecessary fight right off the bat. Unnecessary fights could come later when she was comfortably situated in a permanent place. Her gold tinted eyes looked over Halo for a brief moment before she added,"I'm looking for a leader," in a rather flat tone.

The young female watched the lighter form of the apparent pureblood. Halo's blood was no longer much of an issue for her. Lupine blood ran thick through her veins – forever corrupting her – but she was one of the few that held the beautiful madness of both Lykoi and de le Poer in her body. The potential anyway – she had yet to unleash it. Her tainted eyes spoke of the wolf, Ahren de le Poer, and her body belonged to Kaena Lykoi, the message strengthened by the branded crimson star on the girl’s chest. Samael had killed her, but then brought her back to life. Perhaps she was still worthy. The blood was tainted, but she knew her heart to be purer now. One day she would reach absolution and all those who ever doubted would crumble to the ground. They would see how wrong they all were..

Oversized ear flicked when a rather senseless sentence was brought into the cooling air. The negative emotion flooding through the other woman’s words did not go unnoticed. Halo stepped closer to the smaller female, could feel her fur slowly rise as she did. Was the distaste meant to be heard as those words had sounded? Her copper coated ears swivelled back towards her skull, almost black tail rose unconsciously to outmatch the loner coyote’s not quite submissive pose with a superior one. The second series of words brought an empty smile to the Hydra’s lips. ”Are you saying I’m not good enough?” she threatened sweetly, deciding that there was no reason to be particularly helpful yet.
