Dear Prudence, won't you come out to play?

She knew it could be very difficult to picture something that you had never seen before, but it didn't so much matter how the coat looked but the fact that it would insulate Vieira and help to keep her warmer as the weather turned colder and colder. The smaller woman smiled and Rikka smiled back at her in return. Yes, when she next went to the city she would find a coat for Vieira and give it to her along with the tie dye shirt she had just made. For as few material possessions as she, she did love giving others presents and if anyone deserved such kindness it was the Quintus. No matter how Kaena viewed her, she doubted even her callous mother would deny her the gift of a coat. It served a practical purpose and it would do no one any good if Vieira caught a cold and became sick. Having something to keep her warm would prevent that.

Once again her yellow gold gaze turned out to the ocean. There were few sights that compared and even if there was ugliness in Inferni, she was glad that the surroundings gave some sense of beauty and serenity. "What was it like, where you came from?" Rikka had traveled to many places, but she had never ventured all that far south. It seemed that Vieira must have come from the south and she was interested in what it was like in such climates.
Looking at the ocean, Vieira felt a sort of calmness that Rikka felt. Perhaps it was because the other felt it as well but she did not push on it. Instead, her golden eyes watched the waves crash against the sandy beaches and she stood several yards away from where they landed, finding she did not want to get very wet against the large body of water. It was beautiful but she did not want to be in it. Little did she know that wolves and coyotes traveled across the large body of water to another world, a world she knew did not exist. To her, the world ended with the ocean and as far as her eyes could see were the end of it. She had never been told otherwise, had never asked, and had no real need for such information at this point in time.

Vieira's head snapped to look at Rikka when the question was asked and she realized she had a hard time pulling Astaroth and Sivaro away from Eterne, Mexico and there were no other words she could use to describe her former living location. "Hot," she said and looked at the sand, finding a sudden discomfort. This happened the last time she spoke with Rikka and when she spoke to Anselm. She bit her tongue and shook her head, wanting to speak no more of the place. "I have to go back," she said though she did not need to. She needed to get out of this conversation and she would rather deal with an upset Kaena than try and talk about her past to a woman she did not feel all that comfortable around and that did not understand.

With another shake of her head, Vieira stepped back on the loose sand and did her best to avoid stumbling so she could get back to the caves.
Rikka also kept her distance from the lap of the waves against the shore. Sometimes the cold caress of the ocean could be invigorating, but it did not sound nice at the current moment. It would just make her more cold than lively. In the warmer months though she was certain that she would take many dips out into the bath to cleanse her body and spirit. Bathing was something she did more for spiritual fulfillment rather than hygiene. The woman couldn't really remember a recent time where she smelled unpleasant. With her constant burning of incense that was most often what she smelled like. Some may not enjoy the strong aroma, but she loved it.

It had been a foolish oversight, but she truly hadn't even thought that bringing up where she came from would summon up the demons from her past. Rikka had a fairly easy time separating peoples from places, but of course not everyone did. Especially not if their whole experience in a place had been so dependent on those around them. The woman felt Vieira's discomfort, but was surprised when she went so far as to say she needed to leave. A sad frown creased her lips as she glanced over at the retreating girl. "Sorry..." she whispered, not even sure if the other would hear. Rikka was trying her best, but she didn't know if she'd ever be able to make Vieira feel comfortable around her. It saddened her, but she did not know what else she could do.
