Luckily, the temperature had risen in the past few days, making travel easier for the sturdy female. She'd been alone for a few months, but her survival skills were advanced enough to keep her in relatively good shape. The contours of her frame were more evident than usual, but her bloody eyes remained bright and intelligent. She paused in the snow, serenely allowing the breeze to blow toward her, bringing with it the information she needed. Yes, this was the place to stop. Much further and she would exceed the borders, never a smart move when the purpose was to make a good impression on the wolves of the pack beyond.

There was trouble afoot. Her intuition told her this was so, though the land around her held no proof. She sensed that her presence would be appreciated, rather than seen as added burden. Emmure's small ears perked upright atop her smooth skull, her haunches finding a seat in the hard snow beneath her. She would not send a call to the air unless this became necessary; a patient creature, she was ready to instead let someone find her first. So the slim woman was still save for the raspberry-chocolate eyes that darted through the trees that surrounded her, sifting through branches and flurries of snow for signs of the one who would confront her.

i hope that you dont mind me throwing Minos in here, I promise he will warm up... :3

With his new blood the male had been given a new rank. With his experience fighting beside the leader, Minos had been allowed to stand in his presence and not lay on his back. Still the male found no joy in the boost in his place in the hierarchy, it only brought a larger unease. There was something that he was now responsible for, there would be some that might be below him. They were both ideas that Minos could not believe. The later was more profound, for no one had ever bowed to the white beast. He would not know what to do for one that licked his chin, showed their neck or wished to please him. With his new blood, tainted with a virus that made him uneasy under the round moon, came many other new things.

Minos looked to the borders to ease his anxiety. The release of his energy allowed for the thoughts to filter along with them, his new and bad blood no longer a concern. Black nose tested the air, and found a female unknown to him riding the cold wind. Minos roamed forward, curious to know who it was that had come to the pack’s door. She came into view, her mixed coat of gray catching his eye, and the white once-omega moved slowly towards her; hackles raised in warning.

She would have waited there until the sky began to shift from its monotonous gray to deep slate blue as the night engulfed it. But it happened that she did not need to, for out from among the trees approached a pale beast, his ivory fur nearly blending with the snow underfoot. Perhaps it was misfortune for his unease that she was not only lower than him, but not a member at all. Submitting was an unavoidable requirement. Emmure shrunk noticeably, but the change in posture was smooth rather than awkward. She knew her place well, and was good at molding into it without ever seeming out of place. Lean form lowered, her tail tucked between her legs with the tip kissing the snow. She averted her bloody gaze and folded her ears across her skull, dipping her snout to greet him.

"Hello, sir," she said in her soft, warm voice. Her eyes found his simply in acknowledgment, and she righted her face from the bow she'd given him to present herself. "I apologize for nearing your borders so closely, but I mean no harm." Her expression and tone alike were formal and businesslike, but very sincere. She had no mind for wreaking havoc of any kind. She was here for her own betterment, and hopefully eventually for the pack's as well. "I am Emmure"

Minos sniffed the air, the fur along his back still raised in insecurity. The once-omega slowed his approach towards the female, taking in her scent and recognizing that she was not of the pack and did not belong here. Why was she here? Minos watched, eyes glued on the female as if she would suddenly bolt. There was a change in her, as she found in beyond the tree line. he watched her ears fall downward, as did her tail and head. Minos read the language, and instead of mimicking and playing the role he had so readily practiced the male now played the role of dominant wolf.

White tail rose, curling over his back and even waving slightly with the curiosity that came to him with the scent of the female strengthening as he walked towards her. Ears stood forward, and a soft rumble of a growl radiated in his throat. It was a flawless change a simple reaction to the silent conversation that the two wolves expressed. She spoke, and Minos growled louder, instinctively knowing that she would not challenge him. "Why are you here?" was what he wanted to know. The male stood before the other beast not concerned with sharing names. He had all he needed to know, the sight and scent was enough for the white pelted male.

Almost as she had rearranged her facial and bodily features to appear subordinate, he changed his to seem dominate. As well he should. Emmure had no problem with authority, especially in situations that called for such, like this one undoubtedly did. What she didn't quite understand was the growl that rumbled from within his pale throat. She simply didn't know what more she could do to please him; she'd been courteous, she thought. Perhaps the wolves of this pack were cautious, unnaturally so, because of the very disturbance she had sensed in the air around her. So though she didn't understand, neither did she hold his mild hostility against him. It wasn't her place to judge whether or not he was behaving in the proper way.

She opened her mouth to speak, then realized that she was unsure of exactly what to say. Emmure took a small sigh, barely noticeable despite the fragility of her features. She gathered her thoughts for a few seconds; it was a question he as a pack wolf needed to ask. Then she continued on to answer him. "I've come to share my attributes with this pack in exchange for a home." A pause. To save his time, she decided to proceed with those attributes. It didn't do to merely say she had them. "I'm a warrior," she began. He probably would believe that. But it was true. "I have a fairly good grasp of the healing properties of plants, too." Now he would judge whether these things were enough.

He liked the sense of power, the little bit that coursed though his form as she stood crouched and submissive. What beast wouldn't? It was not often that he got to feel this way, for it was normally the one wishing to please. But for the moment he was the one above, if he had the courage and did not worry that he would be caught doing so he would have aggressively pinned the female down in the snow. Just to show her once more that he was the one who ruled, though only when it was just him and her. If another wolf came he would have slunk even lower then she.

Her answer came, and he cocked his head in question but his face was righted when she explained. She was a warrior, so she could fight even though he saw no evidence of it on her body. Perhaps he was not looking hard enough. Minos took a step forward, yellow eyes staring, his black nose searching her once more. "You want to be here?" he questioned again, the growl gone from his tone but not forgetting what it was like to sense the lick of fear that he thought lingered in her fragrance. "You'll do as your told?" the second was more important, for it was what he remembered the alpha asking him.

It seemed to her that the man was enjoying himself, though she couldn't not name why. She, of course, had no way of knowing that he was relishing the power he held over her, because he hadn't asserted himself over her in any unacceptable way. She let her own curiosity go; it was unimportant for her to know anything about him. The purpose of this was for him to know everything he needed about her.

She saw the slight expression of confusion, but it didn't bother her as it would have some. In all honesty, her skill was such that she was no longer self-conscious about her small size. Locked beneath the solitude-bought slimness and the short stature was a fighter. She had no reason to insist this to him, for he didn't question her further than the simple tilt of his pale face. Emmure locked eyes with him; truly this time. Though the flawless yellow daunted her, she felt comfortable with the contact. She needed him to know that the words she next spoke were entirely sincere. "I will." And she added a slight but elegant nod. She would follow the laws of Dahlia de Mai. All she asked in return was a safe place to call her home until next it was time for a change.

can you please place "Attn: Haku" in the title :3

He felt accomplished, as if he had done something worth doing. Here he was, a former omega and he had questioned a stranger and showed that the pack was above her loner status. She would have the same power, once sworn into the ranks. She would hold the same title, and bow to the same leader. Though, Minos was certain that any beast would bow to the male that led them. All those that might not would be fools, and likely dead fools. As she was lower then Minos, she would would cast her gaze aside in the presence of the land's king. The white wolf let the smile overcome his face, teeth shown but with no other notion of aggression.

He had two choices, call upon a beast that would come to no one, or bring the unranked to him. There was still distrust, and Minos knew the security of their borders was paramount. He turned away from the border, nose pointed skyward and let a single call ring from dark lips. The pale wolf would rather ask for an audience with the alpha, gravel and beg, then bring her any closer to the heart of their home. Eyes glanced at the fey, remembering the risk of her presence despite her words of submission and loyalty. The beasts of these lands were strange, and deceitful. If she thought that she might pass by Minos with masked intentions, there was no passing his leader.

Hello Libri fails and totally did not see this D8

They were all vultures dressed in fur circling in their groups. The more lives he could toss into the gamble the better they were off, but the question was no longer a breathless whisper in the back of his head. While he initially could see no negative aspects of the growth of Dahlia, he could no longer ignore the ringing question – why? Why did they seek out Dahlia and blindly charge into battle? It was as if they openly sought out death – invited it into their lives even. Haku was pleased beyond everything despite the quantity pushing down quality. There was only one winner and this war and that was Haku Soul. The rest of them were all on the losing team and he intended to see them painted with crimson. All of them. The horrors from beneath the grounds were hungry and restless as they swept past in front of his blue eyes. They hungered just like he did and time was running out while was idle in the still relatively safe pack lands. Traps were still crowded around the borders, but the light scent of lavender had slowly vanished and he eventually ended up tracing his own trails and was less able to follow the mysterious scent. It was a mystery, but the massacred animals were fewer than they had been. No wonder since the lands, especially the borders were so well guarded.

Minos’ clear and primitive howl had sounded and the Rosen had answered with a short call himself to announce that he was on his way. He sped up and made his way towards his pack member in a quick trot, wishing to get the procedure over and done with quickly as always. In some ways it had been foolish and heavier to strip the higher members for the ability to accept in newcomers, but he needed to see, needed to know the pieces he was to play and sacrifice when the war would really turn bloody. It was drawing closer and he needed to know the faces and know them when he would later wander across the bloody battlefield and see their empty shells remain. The newcomer was an earthen coated female with good build and age that would not turn her worthless in his eyes. Not instantly anyways. Blue gaze took in the female before his terrible blue returned to the simple minded Minos and his healing wounds. ”Who is this and what do you know of her?” Haku was actually somewhat unsure which questions to ask and how to voice them, as he had already realized how simple the amber eyed member was. Simple was how he liked them, for they were loyal beyond anything else, but it made dealing with Minos more difficult and he did not want to waste time trying to find the right buttons to press.

The decision had been made, and the white wolf waited with the newcomer in silence. He did not have to wait long before a call was brought to them, the voice of his alpha impossible to confuse with another. Minos' ear fall back at the sound, feeling the angst and the submission before the sight of the brown male was even before him. Ear rose again as the yellow eyed male looked to the stranger and gave a growl of warning, it was key that she be on her best behavior. If not, Minos would be happy to put her in her place.

The earthen hued male strode forward, his gait and mindset targeting the two followers. The leader came forth, and Minos sat before him. The scent of the blue eyed male filled his nose and the pale beast fought the urge to tremble. It was fear, but there was an energy that came to him in the presence of the alpha male. A pup-like excitement that made his tail twitch in a stifled wag and the whine slip past his lips. The male's voice doomed in Minos' ears and the white triangles fattened onto his skull.

"Emmure" Minos told, his voice low and his eyes averted. He had tried hard to remember her name, and all the fact that she had given that were just as useless as her name to the alabaster wolf. "She's a warrior and a healer." He told with the same tone. Yellow eyes stole a glance of the scared face, "She says she'll do as she's told." Mino spoke with a stronger tone then before, for that was all he found to be important.

The girl sat by quietly. Naturally she did not know the rank of the frosty man, so neither did she know whether her interrogation would continue now that he had what he wanted. Was he the one to make judgment of her worthiness? It appeared not, for the way he lifted his muzzle and sent a beckoning call into the sky. She didn't think about much as she waited, simply letting silence bring the answer of the leader back to them. Her eyes never even wandered past the trees to sneak over the frame of the brute who'd questioned her, one of so few words. She wanted to let herself wonder about him, about his story. But instead she cleared her sharp mind for whatever was to come next. It was part of Emmure to remain calm even when she was strained tightly by stimulating tasks such as seeking acceptance into a troubled pack. She could set up a blockade before her mind, and this also was part of what made her a good fighter.

When the daunting, multi tone wolf approached them, Emmure's eyes lifted, for she hadn't allowed her mind to become lost in the short time of waiting. She could see by his posture, and by the powerful aura about him, that this was the one who would decide where she turned next. In response to his arrival, she lowered her muzzle into a respectful dip, sweeping her silky tail to kiss her belly. The nameless leader got straight to the point, which suited Emmure well. She was patient, yes; but so was she eager to see what he would make of her. Minos summed their previous conversation up in, again, few words. She had the sense that the pale wolf was rather simple, but not stupid. He did not seem stupid. The woman nodded to punctuate his summation in an unassuming way, repeated the last couple of words she had spoken. "I will, sir."

The answer he was given was satisfying enough and the male gave a curt nod before his eyes released his white member and slowly drifted to the woman’s form. Age could not prove her wrong and her snout had dipped in silent submission when he had arrived. He outright stared at the lithe female for a moment, staring at that rare red-brown hue that gathered around her pupils. She did not come off as (too much) fake in his book. First impression had been good despite her obvious disadvantage of being female. Skills spoke better than gender and the chocolate and cream male’s lips twitched, seemingly wanting to draw the edges of his mouth upwards in a thin smile, though it was a lost cause.
”A warrior of words, body or heart?” he wondered lowly, though he had already made up his mind and did not expect an answer. He only needed to see her face to be able to recognize her corpse out on the battlefield.

His poor excuse of a tail waved tall and he nodded at them both.
”I’ll put you as Gazon – the subordinate rank for now. Do well and you will find fame and glory within Dahlia de Mai.” or death. He did not need more. The scents on her fur were neutral and fresh – without strong hints of ‘Souls’ general territories. It did not matter all that much if some of the joiners turned out to be spies. They would surely find death in one way or another; he was going to make sure of that. The male’s body started to turn slowly and he found it just as well to keep trailing the well marked borders of Dahlia de Mai. He did not need to know this woman. He intended see her dressed in red so soon it was not worth it to even attempt to get to know her.
