The conversation had filtered outdoors, the pack disbursing and leaving in singles and small groups. Heath left with the rest, walking behind the lower ranks and leaving the three leaders to say their good byes. Standing beyond the doors of the hotel the male simply waited, eyes glancing over those that exited and waiting for her to appear. The Marshal had figured that she would wish to speak to Jac or Vigilante about the news that had been shared this night. It was important, and the news beyond anything the male could have expected. The air was cold against the warmth the crowded room had brought to his fur, and he puffed clouds of steam from his nose, nods given to those that passed with a small distant smile hanging on his lips. The sun began to sink early as it did in the dark realms of winter, clouds hung low, threatening snow and the sky with the mix of setting sun and an awakening moon. Gold eyes looked up at the soft round face, breathing deep the clean air.

War. How was there to be war? Heath knew few Dahlians, as well as Inferni clansmen, and did not have many remarkable friends that lived there. A tussle between he and a coyote was all he could remember from the brief experiences. But, war? It did not settle in his stomach, leaving a knot in his gut. The safety of the his home was paramount, and as he thought of Ruri and her delicate face that passed over his mind’s eye there was nothing more important. It was imperative that they stay vigilant, that they patrolled and remained close to the center of the pack’s land. The wolf hybrid thought to the hostility that he remembered from the coyote, and was moved to fear at the image of Ruri against such a creature. It was her practice to stay close to home, but it would be even more important to watch for any strangers approaching the borders.

She was more important then anything, and Heath was ready to sacrifice all he had to keep her out of harms way. Their mate-ship was new and fresh but Heath did not feel as if their commitment was newly seeded. No, the male had had that promise rooted deeply some time ago. Before he could even recognize it, it had settled inside his heart. Before he could even tell that he owned such ability, it had been planted in him. But was not misplaced, and belonged with the black and tan male as rightfully as the moon belonged to the night’s sky. It felt right, and Heath had never known such fulfillment.

Honey hued eyes glanced at the door, his ear picking up the soft foot falls of his mate. The smile he wore could not have been faked, and his gaze was no longer distant and reflective. He knew she would know he was there, but still he called out to her not caring whom she might have been leaving with.
“Ruri?” he wanted to walk her home, and to know if she was all right and how she faired. His light tinted hand reached for the ivory that she owned.

The conversation after the major news did not last long. The Dauphine did not have much to say, only another exhortation to Jac that he should be careful. Aside from that she had bidden them both fairwell to make her way home. The already cold day was growing colder as night took over, sucking away what little warmth the sun provided. To her surprise, little Soleil brushed against Ruri's leg as he dashed out the door to greet Heath. The long-haired kitten had spent most of the meeting hiding from the other, older kitten that had tackled him earlier. Only when he was sure that it was gone and that Ruri was leaving did he venture forth from his hiding spot.

Ruri's surprise quickly faded to an amused laugh as she followed the kitten out the door, her ivory hands feeling the doorframe as she exitted. The worn wood felt smooth beneath her fingers. A familiar voice called her name and the touch that matched the voice gripped her hand as her footpaws touched the snowy ground. "Why hello there, good sir. Did you wait out here in the bitter cold just for li'l ol' me? I'm touched," the delicate border collie exclaimed jokingly. She had attached a slight southern drawl to the last few words to amuse Heath. The portion of the South that Ruri had been raised in gave her a vast variety of accents to draw from. She preferred to speak in her normal, gentle voice for the most part, but if she wished it was not difficult for her to adopt a Southern or even a French accent, though she couldn't speak the language. She hoped her mate would laugh, for she certainly did, amused by her own actions.

Meanwhile Soleil was dancing a figure-eight in between Heath's and Ruri's legs, mewing and quietly begging his two luperci caretakers to begin the journey home.

look! hearts! Big Grin

Even with the security of the pack Heath had never held more fear. Even as a lone wolf Heath had never been so scared. It was not a constant fear, but so new that he could not ignore or forget it. It had taken him some time to unveil the reasons for this new emotion, for it was not the sort of fright that he had suffered when at the edge of his life and facing impending death. It was a worry that gripped his heart, weighed him with responsibility and made the notion of going to war against those that he had no quarrel with and on the side of a clan that he had no alliance to. Heath did not just have himself, but he had his family to think of. In the past the male would have run full force into a fight, not caring who the ‘good guys’ were or who the foe was. The fighter inside would have jumped fists first into the chaos, but not anymore. Risking his life was no longer as simple as it once been; his death was no longer without consequences. He had someone to live for, and his life meant another to protect and care for her.

Gold eyes watched for that very female, and as she stepped out into the closing daylight the male smiled. The silver female noticed his call and touch, speaking flawlessly and without startle. Her tone was different, unlike her normal soft voice. The twang caused the male to laugh as he moved closer towards her, the distance killed in just a few steps.
“N'importe quoi pour vous, mon amour he responded with the French that was native to his tongue heavy in a husky voice. Smiling still the male looked for her ivory painted face to the small creature that bushed against his legs.
“Soleil” Heath greeted the small kitten, who must have been hiding while the meeting was in session.

Returning his gaze back to Ruri’s face Heath squeezed her and face and asked in the normal tone of accented English,
“Should we go home?” Heath had been meaning to bring what he had from the stables to her cabin, and settle in fully. His work with the horses and his business along the borders had kept him away and occupied, but he wished nothing more then to see she was home safe. The notion of trouble north made nothing more important.

Ruri

Ruri smiled as Heath responded to her in French. What little she knew of the language was enough to know what he had said. He greeted their kitten who had responded with a satisfied meow, leaving a smile on the blue merle's face. The strong arms that encircled her form and squeezed her gently made the delicate femme smile as she too embraced her mate, though her grip was far weaker. At the coy-wolf's question, Ruri's half-folded ears perked atop her head. Go home? We? Oh that was right, they were mates now. Ruri giggled and nodded her head, amused by her confusion. The thought of Heath living with her, in her cabin, was still somewhat foreign to the lautari and it made her laugh to think that she had been confused for a moment. "Yeah, let's go home. I think that's what Soleil has been trying to tell us," she smiled as she felt the kitten purring and rubbing against her legs, as if thanking her for finally getting what he was trying to tell them. He was cold! Even long haired kittens needed to get out of the snow after awhile. So, as his two luperci care-takers decided to return to their cabin, Soleil was already taking the lead, ready to find his favorite place in front of the fire and warm up.

Sure enough as the sun slowly dropped from the sky, the sensitive blind woman could detect the chill night air getting more frigid by the second. Having dashed out of her home in her quadrupedal form, Ruri did not have her usual, warm tunic on to help insulate her from the cold. Instead, she had her big, warm man to hug as they walked home. No longer was she shy about touching Heath. Hugging him, kissing him, all of these actions were familiar and acceptable to the tactily sensitive woman now. Her hesitation of touching others would likely linger forever as the overload of sensory information was often a lot to process for the woman, but her relationship with Heath had opened her up to expecting people to shake her hand, or give her a friendly hug as they passed her by. She had so many friends now, it would be rude to deny them those actions that were becoming commonplace in the lives of luperci. With her mate, of course, touch was one of the things she craved. She liked being completely engulfed by his sent and the feel of his fur against hers. She felt like touching him strengthened their mental connection. They both knew each other's personalities, likes and dislikes, and various other psychological aspects, but for Ruri, being physically close to Heath seemed to help her stay in tune with his emotions. It made their bond stronger.

Part of him wished that they were already there, and that he had her out of the snow and cold. Ruri normally wore a sweater of sorts, to keep her lean figure away from the elements. It had been some time since the male had seen her without any sort of covering, but he hadn’t forgotten what she looked like beneath the clothes she chose to wear. He held her for a moment, craving the touch and savoring it as he did. Her sweet voice rose to his ears, fulfilling another craving that he found that could never be satisfied. Where she lacked in sight, she made up in the sweetest, most pleasant of tones. It was music, even when the notes were as even as conversation. She sung to his ears, no matter what the lyrics might be. He wanted her home, warm and safe, where she could sing to him all night long.

The kitten did was well, and as they began the journey the orange cat trailed ahead, knowing the way just as well as Heath did. Heath had been unsure the day that they had found the cat, not trusting felines very much. He had seen them play with their prey, toying with them. But the kitten had been sweet to his love, and even kind and playful with him. She loved the kitten, and Heath might deny his attachment, but he was growing to love him as well. It was an addition to their family, and the only witness to his proposal to the blind woman. Honey colored eyes watched as he scampered ahead, and the stopped to turn and check to see if the hybrids were following.

An arm held her waist, and guided her to the path he was sure she was familiar with. Heath would watch for anything that might trip her up, and held her close in case the snow turned to ice and she might slip. But he held her to simply do so, just because he could.
“I’ll build us a fire, when we get there.” he stated, imagining the roar of the flames in the living space of her, their, cabin. His smile was unmoving, content filling his chest. The cabin could be seen beyond the trees, the bells sounding in the wind.

Long, silvery mane flowed in the chilly breeze as the collie woman walked, held close to her mate. With the breeze came the sound of the bells in the trees and the windchimes on her porch. They were home. Useless though they were, her milky blue eyes glowed eagerly as she felt the familiar, snow covered earth beneath her feet. Soleil was already up the front steps, pawing at the door to be let inside. Though Ruri never locked the door, it was still shut and the small kitten had no way of pushing his way into the warmer building. A meow of urgency escaped his feline lips as he watched the two luperci who seemed content to take their sweet time getting up the stairs. Didn't they realize that it was cold outside?

Chilled footpads soon touched wood as the new mates climbed the small set of steps that led to the cabin's porch and soft, ivory-furred fingers quickly felt for the door knob. Her fingers found the antiqued doorknob so quickly that one might have never known she could not see it. Then, all three of them slipped inside, Ruri gently kicking the door shut once she made sure that Soleil was indoors. "There should still be some embers from the last fire in the fireplace. If those aren't big enough to start a fire, then I think there is a box of matches somewhere nearby. I rarely have to use them because I'm usually so careful not to let the fire go out," she explained, releasing her grip on Heath to let him go start the fire. He would likely be able to ignite the flames far more quickly than she. After all, lighting a fire without being able to see it was very difficult. For one, there was a tremendous likelihood of being burned by either the matches or the smoldering cinders. It would be wonderful to have Heath around to be able to start a fire whenever they needed it. She wouldn't have to spend thirty minutes and waste several matches trying to get the blaze lit.

Letting the marshal go about his task, the delicate luperci quickly maneuvered to the couch, grabbing one of the large blankets and wrapping herself up in it. Little Soleil, was far more content to wait by the fireplace, ready to take his spot on the rug in front of it as soon as Heath got the fire going. This way, he wasn't an obstacle and he could watch the bipedal canid work. For such a young creature, it was still a mystery as to how and why the luperci's set fires, which could be such dangerous things, in small stone caves within their dens. Of course, as a cat he would never complain about the warmth the flames gave, but as a feline it was also in his nature to be curious.

He watched their path, always conscious of where he was leading her. But the land they walked upon was so familiar that it was almost comforting, and he was beginning to feel as if it was home. Of course his heart was home, simply because he was with Ruri. Knowing that she was here with him, knowing that she felt just as intensely as he did, and feeling the quickened beat of his heart and at the same moment the calm contentment of her presence made where ever she was home for the one time loner. Those days were over, and though they had been for months and months now, moment as simple as walking beside her showed him that there was no where else for him. Leaving would simply the ending of anything meaningful; loosing her would be the end of everything that he associated life with.

The kitten spoke his protest, wishing to be out of the cold and away from the snow. Ruri opened the door for the feline, as Heath was simply concentrating as her face as they walked over the threshold. Listening, Heath walked over to the fireplace, finding the matches and the small glow of dying embers. He placed new logs into the small pit, reminding himself to cut more and bring the dryer logs in from outside. If he was to live here he would need to pull his weight, fixing what he could and managing what Ruri could not. He arranged them as she sat on the room’s couch and eyed the cat as he curled in his favorite spot.

Striking the match Heath placed it near the tinder, hoping that it would catch. The flame jumped from one stick to the other and Heath blew lightly on it, encouraging the old embers to reignite. The blaze began, growing steadily. When he believed that they would survive and moved away from the fireplace and turned towards the female. Tucked beneath the blanket he watched her for a brief stolen moment, her silver moon-glow colors in the new fire’s light. He stepped closer, and then sat beside her. An arm reach to cradle her shoulders, shielding her from the room’s chill as well as that from their walk home. Memories of the pack meeting lingered in the back of his mind, but thoughts of Jac and of war could be lost in the mere scent of her. Smiling softly he spoke,
“The fire will be roaring soon enough.”

Ruri

Sitting on the couch, the merle and ivory luperci listened as Heath struck a match and started the fire. In no time her sensitive ears began detecting the characteristic pops coming from the dry wood as the fire slowly began to grow. Heath now joined her on the couch and indicated that the fire would grow quickly. "That's good...that way we'll be warm all night," she cooed in response, snuggling up next to her mate's muscular form. Milky blue eyes looked up towards his face as she smiled contentedly. She would never see her mate's face, nor would she see anyone's face, but that never mattered to her. In fact, the idea that she couldn't see rarely crossed her mind unless someone brought it up. Her world consisted of the vivid complexities of sounds, touches, and smells, that was all she knew. If she were to suddenly gain the ability to see, her entire reality would be sent spiraling into chaos."I love you, Heath, and I always will," she replied, somewhat drowsily. The day had been long, and though the sun had just set, Ruri's current, comfortable position on the couch was causing her body to slowly enter sleep mode. The fragile border collie, wasn't ready to sleep of course, so she found herself quickly trying to fight off the sensation. Fortunately for Ruri, a quick remedy presented itself to her. She and Heath could talk. After all, they always had lots to talk about didn't they."Did you see, Sylvie at the meeting? She's such a funny little pup, always so excited about everything. Come to think of it, I think Alaine sent her back to bed when she arrived. It's good that Sylvie has Alaine to take care of her. Have you met, Alaine yet? She's the new mother who moved into the Chien Hotel. She has the most wonderful voice, such an pretty accent," Ruri began, resting her head on Heath's shoulder. Her face quickly flushed red, however, as she immediately realized her desperate attempt to stay active had been quite overt. Heath probably just wanted to sit there and enjoy their time together. She should have thought about him before starting off on some random conversation.

pretty Ruri!

Heath leaned back on the soft couch, Ruri resting against him. The fire caught hold of the logs he had arranged, crackling and growing a happy glow as it ate away at the dead wood. His golden eyes watched it for a moment, taking the smell that wafted from the fireplace and the embers that jumped in the dim light. The male felt the gentle touch of her hands, the chill of the winter night gone from their soft pads. His own went to draw itself through the ends of her silk mane, eyes falling to her face as she spoke. Her eyes looked to him, and saw him in a way none other could. Heath had recognized that Ruri would never truly know what his face was like, but there was no hiding anything from the blind girl. If he was angry or upset his tone would not be able to cover the feeling, and even if he chose not to speak she could read the air around him. She simply knew. He felt she knew that he looked to her with the lovesick look of pure contentment, his heart more open and vulnerable then it had ever been. He knew she did not have to guess, but he was happy to tell her anyways. “I love you too.” He responded with the emotion set deep in each word.

His arm held her close, wanting to bring the warmth back to both of them after their long walk. Heath felt every bit of tension in her form melt away as the heat of the fire and their bodies filled the room. If she fell asleep, he wouldn’t have minded. He knew that the night’s events had been tiring, that and the comforting atmosphere nurtured few options; sleep being one of them. All the while he did not look away, eyes rested happily on her face. The coy-wolf perked at the sound of her voice, taking in her words and not finding anything out of place. He was used to her bouts of speech and was, as always, eager to listen. Laughing lightly at the memory of the pup Heath returned with, “Sylvie is quite a handful, I imagine you were very different.” He proclaimed in a humor filled voice. He figured Ruri would have been much more timid, less eager to explore as her half sister was. But he imagined her shy, but filled with expression and as caring and sensitive as she was now grown. He pictured her the perfect child, as she was the perfect adult, and as she would be a perfect mother.

“Alaine and I had to go searching for her one day, we ended up finding her in the sheep pasture.” Heath had found it amusing in the end, once the girl had been found. Miss Alaine had been a bit sterner. The morte dre Soul male left the thought of the other woman, his hand trailing down Ruri’s arm lightly. His thoughts would not rest long on anyone beyond the warming room’s walls. Never in his life had the male thought that this was where he would end up. A year ago he would have mocked the future Heath, claiming that he was nothing more then a leashed dog. Then he had thought that he would die an early and bloody death, fighting tooth and claw for his pride. But the Heath that let his hand glide down her soft fur to hold the smaller ivory fingers though himself blessed, and the luckiest son of a bitch that walked the earth.

His kissed her fore head, “Her voice might be wonderful, but not nearly as beautiful as yours.” She was the Lautari for a reason, but in Heath’s mind Ruri held no competition. She was simply place above them all.

Ruri

The delicate collie-girl heard Heath's good-natured response to her brief ramblings, thankful that he had taken no notice to the desperate nature of her conversation starter. Her concern had been unfounded as always, but her habit of worrying would take a long time to disappear. The Aceline girl was lucky she had such a patient, understanding mate to help her. It would take her time, but eventually she would learn not to be as self-conscious about such harmless actions as starting a conversation. Half-folded ears perked as her mate spoke of how Sylvie seemed to be a handful. The silver and ivory optime could not help but agree with the coy-wolf's assessment, evoking a giggle from her vocals, like the trilling call of a bird. "She's definitely energetic," she replied, calming herself before addressing the second part of Heath's response, about how she had likely been far different in comparison to her half-sister. "You're more or less right. I was a quiet, reserved pup, from what I remember. I rarely spoke to anyone except Jac. He'd always talk for me if I needed something, but as I got older he drew back and started to let me build up my courage slowly. It's only since coming to these lands that I've really had to be this socially active," she explained, making sure to give great credit to Jacquez for her upbringing. Though he certainly did not seem like it to most, especially now that Ruri wasn't entirely dependent upon him, he had been a great father/elder brother figure to the blind Border collie. She had faith that one day his good parenting skills would resurface for the sake of any future children he might father. It might take awhile, but the king would not be able to live such a wild-life forever.

Heath's brief account of how he knew Alaine left Ruri shaking her head slightly, not surprised that Sylvie had been found in the sheep pasture. The little girl seemed obsessed with herding and taking care of sheep. The Lautari remembered being repeatedly told so by the pup herself. "I'm glad you found her, though I can't imagine Alaine was very happy with Sylvie when you did. Oh well, everyone has to learn these sort of things," she mentioned before snuggling even closer to Heath, this time wrapping her arms all the way around his waist, removing them from the safety of the blanket now that the room was warm enough. The kiss he planted on her forehead combined with his compliment on her voice made her blush, leaning in to plant another kiss on his cheek, one of her hands sliding up his chest, to his neck as a gesture of loving gratitude. "You always say the sweetest things, monsieur," she remarked, this time her voice taking on a slight French accent as she ran her hand along her mate's neck lovingly.

:]

Heath could easily imagine Ruri as a pup, and what he saw was a collie that was far more timid that he had ever been, quieter then Sylvie would ever be and more reserved then Jac had been in his mother’s womb. Small in size, maybe darker then she was now, a gray with less merle pattern and less silver. Eyes wandering lost in the large world that she had no understanding of. As she spoke he imagined it, his own eyes watching her face. The sound of Jac’s name on her tongue did not bring the same tinge of jealousy as it had at one time. Heath knew he had won that fight, but he did not want to be Ruri’s simply to spite the King. Heath wished to be hers, and had never wanted anything greater in his life, for so many other reasons that they couldn’t be listed. Thankfully Jac was not mentioned there. But he was the reason she was alive, and the reason she lay in his arms. He could be thankful for that. “You were brave, that first day we met. Even if you were so sad.” Heath commented, knowing that she had been so scared. But she had survived, and just maybe to bring meaning back to his life.

As his thoughts drifted back to a memory much fresher then the last Heath gave a soft chuckle. “Neither were very happy. I think Sylvie wanted to play a little longer, and Alaine did not appreciate her wandering off.” Heath had sort of drifted away as pup and caretaker spoke, laughing silently to himself as he remembered the times he had wandered away from his pack when told not to.

Her arms wrapped around his waist, and Heath brought his own hand to rest on her back. Her lips went to touch his cheek and an ivory hand moved upwards, over his chest and into the soft fur of his neck. Heath let his free hand traveled slowly to her face, dark fingers touching the ivory of her cheek. Smiling, Heath watched her expressive face for a moment before replying. His voice held a light laugh intertwined with the question, “Have I ever told you, you are beautiful?”, his fingers drawing themselves through her mane before gently touching her face once again as he spoke. He leaned forward, the warmth of the room beginning to feel chilled compared to the fire in the thin space of air that separated the pair. Slowly kissing the side of her face, his words formed only centimeters from her face. “Or that your perfect?” His hands cradled her back as he embraced her fragile form, his chest against hers. They were not empty comments, and though he felt them with each beat of his heart Heath’s voice grew soft, almost hesitant.

Softy, “Or that I’ll never stop loving you?” his voice came forth with no evident hesitation and yet it felt as if he had lost his breath in the heat her form brought to him. The crackling of the fire, the soft purring of the kitten, and winter’s wind beyond the walls of the cabin had disappeared. Just as the scent of the smoke and the burning wood no longer drifted to his nose. Kissing her lips Heath had no idea that he had yet to realize how much he truly loved the collie-woman, how he had only skirted the surface of who she was and the potential of their relationship. Still, he was drowning in just the shallows of their passion.

A little powerplay, let me know if you want me to change it and I will. *pokes Ruri* for a girl who was shielded from this sort of stuff she sure seems to understand the basic concept. Perhaps it's purely instinctual, lol XD

In the moments that passed the ivory and merle fae listened to every breathe that echoed from her mate's lips, some of them carrying words with them, while others came in slow, peaceful silence. His compliment to her bravery made Ruri blush and gently pat his chest in a playful manner. There was no way she would ever consider herself brave, but then again Heath always had a way of seeing things in her that she didn't. His response about Sylvie's and Alaine's attitudes towards one another during the brief ordeal Heath described were caught by her sensitive ears, but she simply let them fall into their place in her memory, taking little notice of them because of what quickly followed. Heath had now pulled her even closer than before, her hand still resting on his neck as he spoke once more, his accented voice speaking to her, beckoning her to reply and yet captivating her so that for a moment she lost control of her nightingale's voice. "Y-yes, I s-seem to recall you telling me that several times," she replied, almost in a pleasurable daze as he kissed her cheek, then telling her that she was perfect. While she normally would have objected to her perfection, she instead simply replied,"I...y-you t-too." her mind was swimming for a moment, lost in the air that seemed to envelope the two of them. She loved Heath, she knew what that felt like, but this was so different, so unfamiliar and yet it had that same kind of feeling. The blind collie girl couldn't quite grasp what was going on between the two of them at this moment, but she knew that she liked it. Heath's last words were even softer, his face so close to hers that they were almost touching."I'll always l-love you too..." she was cut off as Heath's lips connected with hers, immediately dispelling the fog that had overcome her as Heath had been sweet-talking her. Her free hand slowly traced up Heath's form until both her hands were cradling his neck as she slowly leaned forward until her fragile form was on top of his, both of them still locked in their kiss. When Ruri finally came up for a breath, a few words escaped her lips though her head was still swimming from the caucophony of sensations bombarding her mind.

While at first she could have heard everything going on the room, from Soleil's purring to the sound of the fire crackling, now her sensitive ears were nearly numbed by the overwhelming sensations she felt. It was as though she was mentally closed off from the world while an entirely new aspect of existence was opening up right before her. "Wow...th-this is amazing," she breathed before planting a trail of kisses up Heath's neck to his lips.

ohhh, pp is fine! & heath is getting timid, lawlz

The male laughed lightly as her hand touched his chest in an amused way. He did think she was brave. The fact that she had survived without sight was an amazing feat alone, and living with Jac was another. She loved every best she knew, and that was beyond any courage that Heath could muster. She opened herself up to the pains of disappointment and neglect by befriending every creature. She gave so much of herself, asking so little in return. All of that was brave in the male’s mind, not to even mention that fact that she had been washed ashore, surviving and trusting strangers, trusting him. But his mind drifted lightly over the idea, and left thoughts of her sister and the caretaker far behind. One moment their conversation was in full bloom, taking the pace of a horse's trot, and now his heart beat with the speed of a gallop. Though time was still, moving slowly around them as if patiently waiting for when ever they wished to return from the small world were only they existed.

His words were not in hopes of seducing her, sweet talk that might make her more willing to trust him. There was no need for that, for the coy-wolf knew that she trusted him and if he spoke lies then he knew that he would certainly loose that trust. So the Lord took down that barriers, let the fragile female into his heart and spoke the honest truth; Singing his praises and hoping that she would never forget that he loved her, endlessly.

She leaned into his chest and Heath moved backwards onto the couch, taking the weightless collie with him. His hand held her back and gently pressed in the curve of her spine. Her own small fingers held his neck as their kiss took hold of both their breaths and voices, leaving nothing more then the quickening of their pulses. She broke away, a sweetened tone flowing to his ears and a smile formed to his face. Heath agreed, but his breath had not been caught and his voice frightened away by the small kisses that Ruri placed along the sandy hued fur of his neck.

Heath became still for a moment, watching as he face returned before his to place the last of her kissed upon his lips. His mind was not lost, but reeling though the moments that had just occurred and attempting to comprehend what would happen next. The male had never taken a relationship so slowly, never been so hesitant with a woman before. Wanting every waking moment to be perfect for her caused the male falter at this one. He had told her everything, his feelings and his heart worn on his pelt for her taking. His black painted hand moved slowly down her back while the other raked his claws lightly up her spine. He could not resist the warmth that she brought to him, could only control the rush of his pulse until a dull pleasurable ache was felt.

The voice of their King rang in his ears like an annoying gnat; he would take advantage of her, hurt her, destroy her innocence. Nothing that the moment they shared made him believe that he could, but Heath unknowingly feared that he would.

Her lips parted as she withdrew from the kiss she had just planted on the lips of her mate, feeling his hands slowly moving to trace the contours of her body. As one of his muscular hands rubbed down her back the other gently raked his claws over her spine, leading her to arch her back, exhaling pleasurably at the tingling sensation that his touch sent rippling from her backbone to the rest of her body. Then, as Heath seemed to hesitate, the blind girl paused for a moment, her half-folded ears drooping slightly as a puzzled look appeared on her face. "Am...am I not doing this right?" she questioned, worriedly. It was true that she did not know much about this sort of behavior, other than what she had gleaned from the times she had walked in on Jac. However, she had been doing what had come naturally to her. If she was supposed to be doing it differently, Heath only needed to tell her and she would do so. Milky blue eyes flickered back and forth in Heath's direction as she searched her own memories to try and detect what else might have led him to stop.

Ivory furred hand returned to slowly trace around the features of Heath's face as she lied there atop his body. It was at times like this that she noticed how much smaller she was in comparison to him. While he certainly wasn't the tallest luperci she had ever come across, for Jac was much taller, Heath was still much bigger than her. Of course, that seemed to be the natural order of things that males were larger than females, but the sightless woman rarely gave a thought to such things other than when she was physically touching Heath for only then could she truly distinguish the physical differences between the two of them.

When she was finished with feeling the contours of Heath's face Ruri returned to resting her head on his chest, listening to his heartbeat. If the evening ended right here with the two of them sleeping on the couch she would not complain. She had been enjoying where the night had been going thus far, but at the moment simply being so close to her beloved mate was more than acceptable to the petite, collie girl.

The voice spoke to him, the harsh and gnarled tone of the angry French dog. Heath willed it away, pushing those spoken lies to the deepest depths of his mind. They were not true, and he need to be stronger then the taunts and the accusations of the King. Heath was bigger then that, he was more then just the ragged canine that she had met that sad day beside this cabin. She had made him more. A fate without her was bleak, dark and unforeseeable. Heath did not let his mind wonder that far and once she felt his falter and hesitation she spoke. Never Heath thought, she could never do something wrong, not in his eyes. It was he who needed to be weary of their actions. “No,” Heath spoke, his voice soft yet confirming in his belief. “You’re doing perfectly.” He accented voice explained, using his favorite word to describe her. Perfection

She touched his face, and the male could not close his eyes to the touch, watching her face as she looked at the features he wore. He waited for her to find the imperfections, the small scars that lined his maw or the rough mane that held not symmetry. But her face was the same content happiness she wore whenever they were together. He wondered what sort of look he owned, hoped she could read it for he knew it showed his love, his own peaceful comfort. Thoughts of Jac, and his scowling gaze had faded from Heath’s mind, and rightfully so she was all that remained. Her head rest against his chest, and his dark colored hand reached for her smaller digits. He held the warm hand, looking at the ivory against the dark ebony.

Neck rested on the arm of the couch, free hand rising to run through the long silk mane that lay against his bare chest. He hadn’t meant to push her away with his insecurity, and now that the barrier had been broken and fear of hurting her quelled Heath spoke bravely. “Come to bed with me?” The question did not hold the hesitation of past moments, though he could not promise that he would not worry once again just as he would not expect her to move beyond her realm of comfort. Eyes fell to their joined hands, the contrast blatant and yet her palm fit perfectly in his larger paw. Fingers closed, holding it once more as he waited for her response.

lol, this is getting interesting. I wonder if Ruri will pass out from the sensory overload. I mean, she gets whoozy when they are just kissing, it'll be interesting to see how it progresses for our little virgin Border collie, lol

Heath's hesitation was short lived, for after her concerned inquiry he had quickly reassured her that she had been doing just fine. That made the blue merle woman give a giddy smile as she leaned in and planted a gentle peck on her mate's cheek. "I'm glad," was all she said in reply. If Heath was enjoying this as much as she was then she must have been doing it right. As her own body rose and fell with her mate's breathing, the sensitive lautari ran her free hand through Heath's short mane, as he stroked her long silvery locks. Moving her finger index finger in a circular motion she proceeded to repeatedly curl the hair around her finger in a playful, loving gesture.

What Heath asked next made the innocent minded collie giggle in excitement. She would always maintain her naive view of the world, for that was who she was, but there were some aspects of life that she had been waiting to discover and this was one of them. "Come on," she encouraged, quickly sliding off of Heath's chest and onto her feet, her delicate hand gripping his tightly as she tried to tug him towards the bedroom. What little she knew of what was about to conspire between them was just enough to know that it felt good. Jac obviously liked the feeling enough to do it with any and every girl who let him, and while she didn't necessarily approve of his actions it was his obvious desire for it that made the blind girl eager to experience it for the very first time. In fact, behind the eagerness, a slight apprehension crept into Ruri's mind. What would it feel like? It was Ruri's nature to be cautious about the world around her, for it was easy for a blind woman to walk into things unprepared and get hurt, though her mind told her that this would not be one of those times. She knew how wonderful it felt just to touch and kiss Heath's lips, the sensation literally overwhelmed all of her other senses. What would it be like when they took that contact to the next level? Ruri didn't know, but she was eager to try.

powerplay! let me know if you want changed, and Heath will go as far and fast as Ruri wants... he's a gentleman! xD lawlz

He waited on a baited breath for her response. Wondering what she would make of the request. There was no doubt in his mind that she liked being close to him, and that she did enjoy their contact. Yet, he worried. Unsure if she knew or understood what it was to move forward beyond what they already had. Of course there was a certain instinct that ruled over them, bring animals at their core. But he saw her as anything but. She was his perfect innocence, and at the same moment a woman that could seduce him with the rise and fall of her voice and the gentle touch of her fingers. He wished to please her, desiring to be everything that she could every hope and wish for. He was the gentleman that he never thought he could be, sensitive and loving in a way he had never known before meeting her. Heath only hoped that he would not push her beyond her level of comfort. Heath breathed deep when he heard for her speak. Her voice was eager, and Heath felt the cold against his chest before realizing that she was standing on the floor beside the couch.

In an instant he was standing beside her, his hesitation and his weariness scared away by her encouragement. His attempts on planning the next moment was futile, for she surprised him far too often for him to be able to predict her next action. Instead he tried to forget the future, and tried to live in the very moment that they were creating. If she was scared, Ruri did not show it and instead Heath allowed the small primary rush of excitement and anticipation run through his body. Holding her hand the male led the blind collie to the doorway of darkroom that she had first claimed. In an instant he had his arm wrapped around her waist, the other behind her slender knees. She was weightless, and Heath carried her over the threshold of what was now their room. He laughed lightly, forgetting the past tension that he had brought between them. The bed was made, and Heath placed her lightly as he could on the large blanket.

For a moment he simply watched her, hand resting on the bed beside her form. He smiled before drawing his lips to hers, feeling the electricity and excitement build and rush from her being to his.

Sorry for the late reply. In all honesty, I was still waiting for your reply because I didn't think you had replied yet, lol. Again Sorry XD

The trip to their room took mere moments, but Ruri took them all in as if they were going in slow motion. When Heath picked her up she instinctually reached her arms up behind his head, clasping his neck with her soft hands. Even the thought that the room was indeed their room, not just her room anymore, excited her. That one time, weeks ago when she was injured in bed Heath had slept next to her in order to help her stay asleep. It had felt so right, like it was just meant to be. When he laid her down on the neatly made bed, her heart was already racing, breathe quickened in anticipation. Milky blue eyes danced back in forth, searching to make the connection with those of her mate, but never to be satisfied for more than a millisecond. She, of course, did not think about not being able to see Heath's face. When he finally kissed her, resuming the contact that they had broken in order to move to their bedroom, ivory furred hands reached up to cup Heath's face, pulling it closer so that she could kiss him back to the very best of her ability.

When the time finally came to breath, Ruri loosed her gentle grip on Heath's face and wrapped her arms around his chest, pulling him on top of her petite form, her body sinking into the soft mattress beneath the heavier form of her mate. The heavy contact only excited the blind girl's sense of touch, leading her to hug her mate as close to herself as her fragile arms could manage. As she hugged him, Ruri's soft hands massaged Heath's muscular shoulders, moving in a slow circular motion as she continued to kiss his lips over and over again. "I love you," she whispered in his ear as they continued to kiss and feel each other's bodies against one another.

i do that alll the time :3

She embraced him, hands first reaching for his face. Heath felt his eyes close, blind now to the world that did not consist solely of Ruri. He moved forward, leaning into the contact of their lips, his heart fluttering at the touch, but only for a moment. It resumed its quickened pound, rushing the heat of his blood to every inch, flushing his face and radiating from his core. She pulled him closer with her weaker arms, and Heath could not resist. It was the moon’s pull of the tide. The male followed as she silently asked, his chest pressing lightly against hers. Claws touched his back, fingers pressing against his shoulders as his moved to rest on her face, then sliding back to be tangled in the silver silk mane. The other, black in hue, touched her side, fingers running along her narrow ribcage, he felt her breath against his face, the rise and fall belong his narrow chest, and just beyond her ribs, the muscle felt soft beneath his touch, the fur warm, the skin beneath it electric.

It glided over the soft moon gray pelt, riding the curve of her hip, before stopping to rest upon it. She spoke, and Heath moved back to see her face. Pale eyes looked to him, finding the two golden orbs though guideless, piercing his soul and seeing through him more clearly then any had. His breath had been taken, but the male miraculously found it this moment. “I will always love you.” Heath spoke; slowly he leaned forward, Lips gracing her maw, trailing down her face and to her neck. Heath could not imagine a moment where he would not, could not remember a second of life before he had begun.

His light colored hand resting against the mattress beside her head, the other running along her thigh, no longer feeling the hesitation he had in the common living room. His mouth moved down, lips and tongue gracing her color lightly, moving further and further down. Slow, with a heat that rolled and boiled beneath his skin Heath fed the fire, dark fingers trailing up along her side once more. Fingers touched her chest, eyes wandering to watch the contract of dark and silver. His black nose touched the base of her neck, eyes closed momentarily as he listened to the pulse beneath it. Softly, Heath touched the curve that led to the peak of her breast. His tongue reached for it, kissing her nipple as he had her lips.

Okay, short post...I guess that's what I get for replying while watching the Olympics, lol.

Everything was fuzzy. Her entire body tingled with the electricity that coursed between the two of them. The touch of Heath's hands slowly tracing every part of her body, from her face down to her hips made her body shiver in ecstasy; each and every nerve in her skin was firing impulses of pleasure to her brain. The merle and ivory woman could not compare the sensation to anything she had ever felt before. Each and every kiss he gave her was eagerly returned by the petite Border collie as her hands moved to stroke Heath's upper body reaching down to his waist and sliding her soft fingers up and over his ribcage. White furred fingers traced over every single detail of her mate's body, every rippling muscle and every scar. Pale, blue eyes closed as Ruri planted another trail of kisses on her mate's neck as he moved down her face to her neck as well.

The chill feeling of Heath's cool nose touching her neck left a loving smile on her face. What came next, though, turned her smile to an expression pleasurable surprise, a brief moan came from her throat as Heath kissed her breast. The sensation made her muscles tense up. "Oh wow!" she exhaled, her pulse quickening as she felt an unfamiliar, but pleasant warmth between her legs as she wriggled her body beneath her mate's momentarily. The idea was to briefly massage as much of Heath's body as possible, hoping to return the feeling he had just given her.
